INDONESIA: Muslim suicide bomber blows himself up in a church

The Blaze A suicide bomber attacked an Indonesian church packed with hundreds of Protestant worshippers Sunday, killing himself and wounding at least 20 other people, police and hospital officials said. The blast in Solo town in Central Java province occurred just as people were filing out at the end of the service.
“This is clearly a suicide bombing,” said police spokesman Col. Djihartono, adding that the explosive appeared to have been strapped to the bomber’s stomach. It was packed with nails, nuts and bolts, found scattered around his body.
“Everyone was screaming,” a witness told Metro TV. “I saw fiery sparks and, near the entrance, a man dead on the ground, his entrails spilling out. People around him were splattered with blood,” said Fani, who goes by only one name, like many Indonesians.
Indonesia, a predominantly Muslim nation of 237 million, has been hit by a string of suicide bombings blamed on the al-Qaida-linked network Jemaah Islamiyah and its offshoots since 2002, when a strike on two Bali nightclubs killed 202 people, most of them foreign tourists.
Bombings by solo “jihadis” have continued, however, often targeting Christians, security officers and members of Islamic sects deemed “blasphemous” by hard-liners.

Although we should have learned by now that nothing is sacred and nothing is safe from those whose mission it is to destroy America, it’s still shocking to learn that jihadist terrorist organizations have infiltrated the Boy Scouts of America.

The Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamic organization responsible for the creation of Hamas, has infiltrated the BSA, not only through mosques and worship centers that establish and sponsor scouting programs, but also through direct partnership with BSA.
Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1910, during the height of the progressive era in the United States due to concerns among some that young men were no longer learning patriotism and individualism. BSA epitomized the Christian values of America’s founding fathers for decades. Today, however, Boy Scouts of America is riddled with terrorist organizations who are recruiting and training youth — by the thousands — for their own causes.
Boy Scouts of America welcomes diverse religions and has incorporated them into its program giving scouts an opportunity to earn badges or emblems by participating in religious activities.
The Islamic scouting emblems include an Allahu Akbar emblem. Allahu Akbar (‘Allah is greater’) are the very same words shouted by many Islamic terrorists and suicide bombers in the moments just before they kill (in the name of Allah).

lmost 30 years ago, Boy Scouts of America entered into a partnership with the Islamic Council on Scouting of North America, an organization in New York that expressed a desire to promote scouting in local Muslim communities. That partnership opened the door to a dangerous and radical form of Islam, welcoming the ICSNA in to recruit and train new generations of jihadists right under our noses.
ICSNA was chaired by Dr. Muzamil Siddiqui, an Islamic scholar who served as Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee of a Muslim Brotherhood founded organization, Muslim Students Association (MSA).
Once accepted into BSA, the ICSNA immediately began the formation of a National Islamic Committee of the Boy Scouts of America to spread Islamic scouting across the nation. An ad hoc committee was formed under the Chairmanship of Ambassador Youssouf Sylla, representative to the United Nations of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
Thanks to the work of the ICSNA’s national committee, several Islamic scout units have been formed throughout the U.S. and more Muslim Brotherhood organizations, like the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), were accepted into the BSA.
BSA states regarding its relationship with the Islamic Society of North America: “ISNA has had a relationship with the Boy Scouts of America for over a decade, and the ISNA secretary general recently signed the relationship document in the ISNA’s annual convention at Chicago.”
Last year, Klein reported that the Obama administration has “an extensive relationship” with ISNA and that the organization was an unindicted co-conspirator in a scheme to raise money for Hamas. Klein went on to say that, according to Islam scholar Stephen Schwartz, ISNA is “one of the chief conduits through which the radical Saudi form of Islam passes into the United States.”. A Saudi Arabian man was busted at JFK Airport after the Transportation Security Administration spotted a stun gun and four other weapons in his checked bag on a flight bound for Riyadh.
NY POST (H/T True Grit) Mohamed Hefni, 54, was arrested in a first-class lounge at JFK at 4 p.m. Thursday after agents found the contraband in his luggage before he could board his Saudi Airlines flight to Riyadh, authorities said. Hefni, told officials he was taking them home to Saudi Arabia to protect his family. (Sure, he was)
After TSA agents first noticed the gun’s outline during a routine screening, they opened Hefni’s package. Inside they discovered a fully operable battery-powered electric stun gun, three electric stun batons, an electric stun pen, and a large can of pepper spray, authorities told the New York Post.
Hefni’s lives in New York City and was arrested by Port Authority cops on misdemeanor weapons charges. The New York Times reports that Hefni was released Friday evening without bail, and a TSA spokeswomen told the Times that “We do not believe this was related to terrorism.” (No, of course it wasn’t related to terrorism. Why would we ever suspect a Saudi Muslim carrying weapons onto a plane to be a terrorist?)
Hefni told the police he had bought the weapons “for his protection,” according to court papers, and NY1 reports that the man told TSA agents the weapons were to protect his family in Saudi Arabia. Hefni was charged with five misdemeanor counts of illegal weapons possession, each of which carries a penalty of up to a year in prison.

Think Progress Spencer Ackerman’s reports on Islamophobic training sessionsat the Federal Bureau of Investigation have sent the Bureau into damage control mode. On Thursday, the FBI held a conference call with Muslim civil rights groups to apologize for the offensive training materials, which Ackerman has published over the past week.
The FBI has promised a “comprehensive review of all training and reference materials,” but Ackerman, in an article published today, reveals that the work of well-known Islamophobes permeates the FBI’s training culture and the internal reference resources available to FBI agents.

Ackerman reports that the mandatory online orientation material for the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTFs), included the following description of Sunni Muslims:
Sunni Muslims have been prolific in spawning numerous and varied fundamentalist extremist terrorist organizations. Sunni core doctrine and end state have remained the same and they continue to strive for Sunni Islamic domination of the world to prove a key Quranic assertion that no system of government or religion on earth can match the Quran’s purity and effectiveness for paving the road to God.
An examination of the FBI’s library in Quantico, which is not open to the public, revealed that the Bureau stocks a wide range of resources on Islam but includes a number of books by well known anti-Islam authors Daniel Pipes and Robert Spencer.
Pipes and Spencer are featured prominently in the Center for American Progress’ new report, “Fear, Inc.,” which outlines the small but influential group of individuals and institutions who help promote anti-Muslim hatred in the U.S.
Spencer, who claims that “Islam is not a religion of peace” and has suggested that President Obama may be a Muslim, gained notoriety after it was revealed that Norwegian terrorist Anders Brevik’s manifesto included 162 references to Spencer and his blog Jihad Watch.
Pipes famously observed that “all immigrants bring exotic customs and attitudes, but Muslim customs are more troublesome than most.” He also plays a key role in the Islamophobia echo chamber by repeating the falsehood that Obama is a former Muslim who “practiced Islam.”
The combination of Islamophobic presentation and the FBI’s apparent endorsement of noted anti-Muslim “experts” like Spencer and Pipes raises serious questions about the FBI’s counterterrorism training and the Bureau’s understanding of Muslim Americans.
Earlier this month, the Seattle Times reported on a disastrous presentation by an FBI agent at a community outreach workshop. The failed presentation offers insights into how federal law enforcement officers’ training has seriously hampered their ability to engage with Muslim communities.

LA TIMES The students, who faced up to a year in jail on the misdemeanor counts, were sentenced to three years of probation, 56 hours of community service and fines. Each was convicted of one misdemeanor count of conspiring to disrupt Oren’s Feb. 8, 2010, speech and a second count for disrupting it.
Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas, who was in the courtroom for the verdict Friday, said the students’ behavior amounted to censorship and “thuggery.” “In a civilized society,” he said, “we cannot allow lawful assemblies to be shut down by a small group of people using the heckler’s veto.”
The verdict took the jury of six men and six women a little more than two days to reach, and reaction was swift.
“Absolutely unbelievable,” Shakeel Syed, executive director of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, said of the verdict. “I believe the heart of America has died today.(The heart of America lives. It’s you who should die)
“This is clearly an indication that Muslims are permanent foreigners, at least in Orange County.” (Yes, you are. Time to go home back you belong)

The mood was tense Friday when the jury filed into the Santa Ana courtroom with the decision. After the defendants waived their right to individual verdicts, Superior Court Judge Peter J. Wilson admonished the approximately 150 in attendance to maintain decorum.
“Please remain in control of your emotions at all times,” he said. That failed, however, to prevent a passionate response from the spectators when the verdict was read. A number of those in attendance wept, while more than a dozen stormed out in anger.
The defendants, however, showed little emotion: One bit his lip, another closed his eyes, a third winced. Only one, Mohammad Uns Qureashi, visibly shed a tear. When the jury was polled, the defendants stared back at them.

Investigative Project Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas complained that “all hell has broken out against us” over the UN effort, but that there was no turning back from the present course.
Abbas reportedly rejected offers of concessions from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, including compromises on language describing the borders of a future state and describing Israel as a home for the Jewish people. “From now until I give the speech, we have only one choice: going to the Security Council.
The United States has promised to veto any Palestinian request for full inclusion as a member state before the council. But the PA likely would secure an upgrade of its current status as an observer if it turned to the full UN General Assembly. Western diplomats say that will lead only to disappointment for Palestinians and not get them any closer to actual statehood.
And there are risks for the Palestinians if they refuse to alter their course. If Congress follows through on threats to cut off American aid to the Palestinian Authority, “the risk of PA collapse is very real,” PA central bank chief Jihad al-Wazir told Reuters.

CNN’s Ben Wedeman reported Thursday that his team had found two warehouses full of what appeared to be radioactive material on a military base near the Libya town of Sabha.
“We’ve come across two warehouses full of thousands of blue barrels — some of them marked radioactive — on the ground,” Wedeman told CNN’s Kyra Phillips. “In one of the warehouses, we found several large plastic bags full of what appears to be yellow powder, which had been closed also with this radioactive tape.”
Military forces loyal to the country’s National Transitional Council took a CNN crew Thursday to the site, not far from Sabha in the Sahara desert. The crew saw two large warehouses there, one containing thousands of blue barrels, some marked with tape saying “radioactive,” and several plastic bags of yellow powder sealed with the same tape.
The material has not been confirmed as being radioactive, but the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog agency, confirmed Thursday that the Libyan government had yellowcake stored near Sabha.
Yellowcake is processed uranium ore that can, after extensive refining, be used to produce enriched uranium for nuclear purposes.
A field commander for the revolutionary forces said the NTC wanted the international community to come in, identify the suspect material and take it to a place of safekeeping. The forces fear it could cause an environmental disaster if it were to explode during fighting, he said.
A U.S. Defense Department official, who declined to be identified due to the sensitive nature of the issue, told CNN that Libya’s remaining stock of highly enriched uranium was removed from the country as of 2009.
“We also continue to monitor Libya’s stockpile of uranium yellowcake,” the official said. “This material would need to go through an extensive industrial process, including enrichment, 
before it could be used in building a bomb. Such processes do not exist in Libya.” (But they do in Pakistan and Iran)
The official said it was important that the NTC fully secured the site and that it worked to allow international monitors to return to Libya as soon as possible.
“The IAEA has tentatively scheduled safeguards activities at this location once the situation in the country stabilizes,” she said in a statement.
These “safeguards” measures would not mean the IAEA was physically protecting the material — a national responsibility — but rather that it was carrying out technical checks on what was there to avoid proliferation, she said.

INN The girl received treatment from Samaria Regional Authority medics and evacuated to a hospital. The Authority Head Gershon Mesika said: “The ‘men of peace’ of the Palestinian murder authority provide yet more proof, to those who still need it, as to just whom we are facing. We face low life terrorists who try to murder babies.”
