OREGON LIVE- CORVALLIS — The parking lot in front of the Salman Alfarisi Islamic Center filled Monday with community members and religious leaders uniting against the arson that charred the mosque’s office the day before.
“This shouldn’t happen here – it shouldn’t happen anywhere – but Corvallis is a wonderful, open community,” said Laurie Holst as she stopped by the mosque to drop off a potted plant and card. The gifts were part of a growing cluster of poinsettias, bouquets and cards placed in front of the men’s entrance to the mosque. (Pathetic leftie Muslim apologist scum)
A police sergeant discovered the fire about 2:15 a.m. Sunday. It was contained to the office, damaging 80 percent of that area. The fire followed the arrest of Mohamed Osman Mohamud in a Portland bomb plot. Mohamud, a Somali-born naturalized U.S. citizen, was a student at Oregon State University and occasionally attended the center.
The FBI is sending evidence from the fire scene to its main laboratory in Quantico, Va., for evaluation by specialists. The agency is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case. (Question the members of the mosque first)

Pakistani Christian mother denied presidential pardon for allegedly ‘insulting Islam.’
UK GUARDIAN – via TROP A Pakistani court has barred President Asif Ali Zardari from pardoning a Christian woman sentenced to death on charges of insulting Islam, in a case that has prompted criticism over the country’s blasphemy law.
The Lahore high court today barred Zardari from pardoning Bibi in a petition filed by Shahid Iqbal, a Pakistani citizen. Iqbal’s lawyer Allah Bux Laghari told Reuters a pardon was illegal as the court was already hearing an appeal against her sentence.
“We believe it is the court’s duty to evaluate the evidence against her, not individuals, and if she is found innocent, she should be freed,” he said.
Human rights groups have demanded the repeal of the law, which they say discriminates against religious minorities who make up roughly 4% of Pakistan’s 170 million-strong population.
A government minister said last week that an initial inquiry into the case of the Christian mother said she had not committed blasphemy but was falsely accused after a quarrel.
Blasphemy convictions are common although the death sentence has never been carried out. Most convictions are thrown out on appeal, but angry mobs have killed many people accused of blasphemy.

The US consulate in Istanbul reported in August, 2009 that a businessman close to Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, a former Iranian president, that the Supreme Leader had been diagnosed with a fatal form of Leukaemia. The source said Ayatollah Rafsanjani believed his great rival would be dead in a “matter of months”.
The timing of the information is significant since Ayatollah Rafsanjani was at the time orchestrating opposition to the re-election of President Mahmound Ahmadinejad, who has triumphed in a blatantly rigged election the previous June.
“As a result, Rafsanjani decided to stop challenging Khamenei, and instead is preparing the ground to have himself appointed Khamenei’s successor,” the report said. “If he is successful – though clearly he would face stiff opposition from Ahmadinejad allies in that Assembly – he would then invite Ahmadinejad to resign and call a new election.”

UK DAILY MAIL- A British Airways computer expert who is alleged to have offered himself as a suicide bomber appeared in court today to deny terrorism charges. Rajib Karim, 31, of Newcastle upon Tyne, remains in custody and is due to go on trial on January 24 at Woolwich Crown Court in south east London.
Bangladesh-born Karim appeared via videolink today at the Old Bailey where he pleaded not guilty to two charges of preparing for terrorism. Each count covers the period from April 13 2006 to February 26 2010 and includes the allegation that he ‘offered to be a martyr or suicide bomber’.
The first charge alleges that he engaged in conduct in preparation of terrorism, with the intention of committing acts of terrorism, including that he ‘incited the giving of permission to carry out terrorist acts in the United Kingdom’.
Karim is also said to have offered to travel to Yemen or Pakistan to carry out terrorism training, and to have advised about potential recruits to commit terrorist acts in the UK.
Also among the conduct said to form part of the allegation was that he stayed in the UK long enough to obtain a British passport.
It is further claimed that he ‘advised and counselled the commission of terrorist acts by providing information’ on topics such as such as liquids allowances on planes, airport security and scanners, and immigration questions to travellers.
He was also said to have provided details on BA computers and their vulnerability to a physical or ‘internal systems’ attack to inflict financial loss.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 28 – Prime Minister Raila Odinga has ordered a nationwide crackdown on homosexuals in Kenya.
Mr Odinga on Sunday said that police should arrest anyone found engaging in such behaviours and take appropriate legal action against them.
“We will not tolerate such behaviours in the country. The constitution is very clear on this issue and men or women found engaging in homosexuality will not be spared,” Mr Odinga said. “Any man found engaging in sexual activities with another man should be arrested. Even women found engaging in sexual activities will be arrested,” the premier warned.
A move by Uganda to introduce a Bill calling for long jail terms or death penalty in some cases of homosexuality received international condemnation, with US President Barack Obama describing it as “odious”. The PA’s information ministry this week released an official “study” declaring that the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City — revered for 2,000 years as one of Judaism’s holiest sites — isn’t Jewish at all. In fact, claims the report by a senior ministry official, it is nothing more than the western wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and has only been a worship site for Jews since World War I — and then, only because of “Muslim tolerance.”
This, it should be noted, isn’t coming from Hamas. It emanates from the same “moderate” Palestinians whom President Obama and the rest of the world embrace, make concessions to and trust with Israel’s long-term security.
Sadly, Arab efforts to erase Jewish history are nothing new. What is contemptible is that those efforts increasingly are being endorsed by the world at large.
Last month, UNESCO endorsed the PA’s demands that Rachel’s Tomb outside of Bethlehem — long revered as a Jewish site of worship — not only be removed from Israel’s declared historic sites but actually be declared a mosque. Not even Yasser Arafat ever made such a claim until 1996 — and even then, without a shred of historic evidence.
UNESCO also declared that Israel cannot claim the Cave of the Patriarchs, the traditional burial site of the biblical forebears of the Jewish nation, as a national heritage site. Piling on, UNESCO then voted to strike the Israeli delegate’s protest of that vote from the official record, calling it “too aggressive.”
And it should be noted that even the Obama administration publicly attacked Israel for adding those two sites to its national heritage list — a gesture that allows them to be preserved.
The whole point of this ongoing exercise is to erase any Jewish connection with the biblical land of Israel — with an eye toward negating the modern state of Israel’s existence.
All the more reason why Netanyahu is justified in moving slowly — and in resisting those who claim the Palestinians are willing to co-exist with Israel.
NY POST - Iran’s interior government minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar accused the US and Israeli intelligence services — the CIA and Mossad — of killing a prominent nuclear scientist on Monday, state television reported.
“Mossad and the CIA are the enemies of Iranians and always seek to hurt this nation. They particularly want to stop our scientific progress,” he said, after state media reported one Iranian nuclear scientist was killed and another wounded in separate attacks in the capital.
Iran was quick to blame Israel following the twin blasts.
“In a criminal terrorist act, the agents of the Zionist regime attacked two prominent university professors who were on their way to work,” the website of Iran’s state television network reported earlier Monday, referring to arch-foe Israel. ”Dr. Majid Shahriari was killed and his wife was injured. Dr. Fereydoon Abbasi and his wife were injured,” the report said.
Fars news agency said the scientists were targeted in two different locations by men on motorcycles who approached their vehicles and attached bombs to their cars.
Shahriari was a member of the nuclear engineering department of Shahid Beheshti University in northern Tehran, according to the official IRNA news agency. Abbasi held a PhD in nuclear physics and did nuclear research at the defense ministry, the hardline news website Mashreghnews said.
The website said Abbasi, 52, was “one of the few specialists who can separate isotopes” and was a “member of the Revolutionary Guards since the revolution” in 1979.
The reported attacks came a day after the top US military officer said the United States, which is suspicious of Iran’s nuclear drive, was weighing military options in the face of Tehran’s announcement it had a nuclear power plant up and running. On Saturday, Iran said its first atomic power plant built by Russia in the southern city of Bushehr had begun operations, ahead of a new round of talks with Western powers over the country’s controversial nuclear drive.

Washington Times(H/T Tom) - Phoenix’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has survived six separate inmate lawsuits trying to stop him from playing Christmas music, will begin playing the tunes again this year – starting Monday with Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and Feliz Navidad.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, to which Sheriff Arpaio was first elected in 1992 after a 25-year career at the U.S. DEA, has played the holiday songs all day, every day, during previous seasons. The latest inmate lawsuit was dismissed in federal court in December 2009.
“We keep winning these lawsuits. Inmates should stop acting like the Grinch who stole Christmas and give up wasting the court’s time with such frivolous assertions,” the press release read.
Inmates have sued six times claiming that being forced to listen to the Christmas songs 12 hours a day was in violation of their civil and religious rights and a cruel and unusual punishment, but U.S. District Judge Rox Silver disagreed, dismissing the case and denying claims for $250,000 in damages.
The court issued a summary judgment saying it found no evidence of fact, so Sheriff Arpaio was entitled to the judgment as a matter of law. In upholding the decision, the court said the sheriff was free to “inject the holiday spirit into the lives of those incarcerated over the holiday season in the third-largest jail system in the US.”
Sheriff Arpaio has long expressed his fondness for Christmas music, especially”Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and anything by Alvin and the Chipmunks, so it was with some glee last year that he announced in a red-and-green press release that the lawsuit had been dismissed and the music would begin.

UK TELEGRAPH - A radical Muslim who led the banned group al-Muhajiroun is to be handed his own programme on Channel 4 amid claims that Islamists have been allowed to monopolise the broadcaster’s coverage.
Anjem Choudary, who was also involved with the banned group Islam4UK which planned a protest march through Wootton Bassett, will have free reign to give his views during an edition of the channel’s daily opinion slot, known as 4thought.tv.
The counter-terrorism think-tank Quilliam has written to David Abraham, the Channel 4 chief executive, to complain about airtime already given to radical Muslims during the series. It claimed that 4thought.tv had failed to properly identify the ideological allegiances of presenters and that a disproportionate amount of time had been given to extremists.
Choudary, who has described the 9/11 bombers “magnificent martyrs“, will say in his programme to be broadcast on Dec 5 that British Muslims are “persecuted”.
Channel 4 has already broadcast a film by another radical Muslim, Abu Nusaybah, who supported Choudary’s plan for an Islamist march through Wootton Bassett, the scene of tributes to fallen British soldiers. In it, Nusaybah called for sharia law to be introduced in Britain.
Christian school in The Hague bans teacher in Islamic headbag.
Dutch News- An orthodox Christian primary school in The Hague on Friday refused to accept a fill-in teacher because she was wearing an Islamic headscarf.
School head Teun Klaver said the school had imposed strict rules on clothing around seven years ago. The school bans all religious clothing and attributes unless they relates to the Christian faith.
Orthodox religious schools are run privately but receive government funding. They may only ban religious symbols under very strict circumstances, a spokesman for the equal opportunities commission told the Volkskrant.
But Geert Wilders was banned from entering the UK for several years, until just recently.

EIP NEWS - A senior Muslim cleric who is known as the “Taliban’s ideological mentor” has been allowed to enter the UK and address the House of Lords. Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party, came to the UK on Wednesday, at the invitation of the High Commission of Pakistan, and was due to address the House of Lords on Thursday.
Earlier this week, the chairman of human rights group Ansar Burney Trust International and Pakistan’s former federal minister for human rights, Ansar Burney, asked Home Secretary Theresa May to block Maulana Rehman’s entry due to his “religious extremist ideological threat.”
Mr Burney said Maulana Rehman’s “unquestionable pro-Taliban ideologies and vowed support for the Taliban may potentially carry a great deal of threat to the British society.”
Think tank International Crises Group has claimed Muslim seminaries run by his party are used as Taliban recruitment centres and identified Maulana Rehman as the Taliban’s “ideological mentor”.
He added that if Maulana Rehman is not banned, he will seek judicial review to challenge the permission.
Earlier this year, Ms May banned controversial Muslim preacher Zakir Naik from entering the UK on the basis that his presence was not conducive to the public good.
A spokeswoman from the Home Office said they would not comment on individual cases.
A spokesman at London-based counter terrorism think tank, the Quilliam Foundation, said: “It is very worrying that Rehman has been able to get into the country. We call on the Government to have more scrutiny for individuals such as him. “His party is well known for being antisemitic and pro-Taliban.”
Mohammed Abbasi, a spokesman for the Association of British Muslims, said: “Fazlur Rehman has been stirring up political fanaticism and anti-Western sentiment in Pakistan for years. The government must know full well that he is extremely likely to spread similar hatred and support for the Taliban during his stay in the UK.
“It is extraordinary that he should be welcomed here despite his track record of openly supporting the Taliban.
“Entrance to the United Kingdom is a privilege which should not be granted to extremists who promote hatred and stir up tension. Rather than rolling out the red carpet for them, where possible figures like Mullah Fazlur Rehman should face legal action.”

Salvatore Giunta, received the Medal of Honor for bravery above and beyond the call of duty in combat in Afghanistan. “From United States Army Field Manual FM 22-5 The rules of saluting are as follows: All Medal of Honor recipients are to be saluted by everyone in the military, to include the President of the United States.
A few people emailed me about a salute not being required/against protocol by the President. But a military publication agrees with me that it would have been the decent thing to do.
NY DAILY NEWS– At the conclusion of the ceremony, Giunta got a hug, not a military salute, from President Obama. As a blog post on the website of Stars and Stripes, a military publication, pointed out, it would have been appropriate – though not necessary – for Obama to salute Giunta. It referenced a previous Medal of Honor recipient who had been saluted by George W. Bush.
Obama’s ineptness/repulsion at saluting the military for whom he is Commander-in-Chief has not been lost on the military themselves.

One required act of military courtesy is the salute. Regulations governing its use are founded on military custom deeply rooted in tradition. The salute is a symbol of respect and a sign of comradeship among service personnel. In form, the salute is simple and dignified, but there is great significance in that gesture. It is a time-honored demonstration of courtesy among all military personnel, and it expresses mutual respect and pride in the service.
One of his important roles is the Commander-in-Chief: head of our national military services. It used to be a given that presidential candidates should have some sort of military background… and traditionally for the most part they did.
Anyhow, I’m a veteran. One of the first things they teach you when you join the military is how to salute properly. The arm should be a straight line, palm flat, etc. Bent wrists and cupped palms are a sure sign of someone who never served. People who salute in this sloppy fashion are laughed at by service members as ‘posers’ and actors.
One of the things that struck me yesterday while watching Obama salute during the parade is that nobody has told this to him. He’s surrounded by legions of heavy metal brass, all throwing up that perfectly angled arm and he’s got the bent-wrist and cupped palm thing going on. I don’t mean to disrespect the man, but I really hope that somebody has the courage to bring this to his attention. If an old vet like myself noticed, I’m sure the men and women who serve with him will notice too.
This is such a small, minor thing, but it has enormous symbolic implications. It’s a sign of respect that goes both ways in the Chain of Command. I hope that someone close to the President will pull him aside and clue him in. (Don’t hold your breath, he doesn’t want to salute properly. It’s his way of disrespecting the military)
