The Muslim side of the 'Salute to Israel Parade' that was blacked out by the media
Posted: May 25, 2010 Filed under: EnemyWithin-American, Islam and the Jews Leave a comment »
Revolution (of the South Park death threats) Muslims were at the parade, as usual (video below), although they were cordoned off in a pen (as all rabid animals should be) by police. Security at the parade this year was unprecedented.
The New York Police laid on exceptionally heavy measures to protect the annual Salute Israel parade on Fifth Avenue, New York, against terrorist attack, including car bombs.

A Revolution Muslim leader
All the entrances to Fifth Avenue between 55th and 83rd Streets were blocked by patrol cars and huge trucks packed with cement as counter-measures against car bombs, as around ten thousand marchers celebrated Israel’s 62nd anniversary under a sea of waving blue and white flags. Regular participants in the annual parade said they have never seen such extreme anti-terror measures before.
A ring of police officers, undercover agents and Israeli security guards enclosed the group of marching Israeli consular staff. More police officers mingled with the cheering crowds lining the streets of the route, police marksmen perched on the rooftops and helicopters hovered overhead.
Our counter-terror sources report that US federal agencies and the New York police are not satisfied that the accomplices of Faisal Shahzad, who failed to detonate a bomb on Time Square on May 1, have been rounded up and fear that his network is still at large. DEBKA

The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America
Posted: May 24, 2010 Filed under: Islam in America Leave a comment »Andrew McCarthy’s new book looks like a good read. Although if you are a regular here, most of it will not be news to you.
Heritage FoundationThe real threat to the United States is not terrorism. Andrew McCarthy argues that the real threat is Islamism, whose sophisticated forces have collaborated with the American Left not only to undermine U.S. national security but also to shred the fabric of American constitutional democracy – freedom and individual liberty. In The Grand Jihad, he offers a harrowing account of how the global Islamist terrorist movement’s jihad involves far more than terrorist attacks.
For years, McCarthy warned of America’s blindness to this threat, but in The Grand Jihad he argues there is a more insidious peril: the government’s active appeasement of Islamism and its ideology. With the help of witting and unwitting accomplices in and out of government, Islamism doesn’t merely fuel terrorism but spawns America-hating Islamist terrorist enclaves in our very midst, gradually foisting the repressive concepts of sharia law on American life. The revolutionary doctrine has made common cause with an ascendant Left that also seeks radical transformation of our constitutional order.
Andrew C. McCarthy is a former federal prosecutor who prosecuted the “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman and eleven other jihadists for bombing the World Trade Center in 1993. He is a Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, D.C., and a contributing editor at National Review. He is the bestselling author of Willful Blindness: A Memoir of the Jihad.

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, a medical doctor and former U.S. Naval officer, is the kind of outspoken Muslim whom I wish would represent the American Muslim community.
I have been following Dr. Jasser’s writings, TV and radio appearances for several years now. Below are his views on the proposed 9/11 Ground Zero monster mosque.
MOSQUE UNBECOMING
By M. ZUHDI JASSER AIFDemocracy
In the 1960s, my parents left their despotic motherland of Syria for the promise of genuine liberty and religious freedom in America. In the decades since, we have led the construction of a number of mosques in the towns where we lived.
Zuhdi Jasser recipient
These were all humble mosques, funded locally by our congregations. It’s plain the planned “Ground Zero mosque” is something very different. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, his wife, Daisy Khan, and an investor intend to build “Cordoba House,” an ostentatious $100 million, 13-story Muslim community center including a gym, a swimming pool, a performance-arts facility and a mosque.
My first concern is whether the financing truly represents the local American Muslim community or comes with strings from foreign Islamists. But that is far from my last concern.
I am an American Muslim dedicated to defeating the ideology that fuels global Islamist terror — political Islam. And I don’t see such a “center” actually fighting terrorism or being a very “positive” addition near Ground Zero, no matter how well intentioned.
Zuhdi Jasser, Producer
To put it bluntly, Ground Zero is the one place in America where Muslims should think less about teaching Islam and “our good side” and more about being American and fulfilling our responsibilities to confront the ideology of our enemies.
Khan and Rauf avoid discourse on reform and political Islam. Instead, they simply give us the familiar, too vague condemnation of “extremism and violence.” They seem to conveniently view 9/11, al Qaeda and every manifestation of militant Islamism as simply a public-relations problem for “Muslims in the West.” Imam Rauf has even gone so far as to bizarrely say that the 9/11 terrorists were “not Muslims.”
As controversy over the project has become heated, Rauf’s Web site has scrubbed the term “mosque” in exchange for “center” — again missing the boat of why so many Americans are offended. (Meanwhile, the plans of another local Islamic group to rebuild near Ground Zero only added to the quandary.)
This is not about the building of a mosque or a religious facility. It is not about religious freedom. This is about a deep, soulful understanding of what happened to our country on 9/11.
When Americans are attacked, they come together as one, under one flag, under one law against a common enemy that we are not afraid to identify. Religious freedom is central to our nation – and that is why the location of this project is so misguided. Ground Zero is purely about being American. It can never be about being Muslim.
The World Trade Center site represents Ground Zero in America’s war against radical Islamists who seek to destroy the American way of life. It is not ground zero of a cultural exchange.
We American Muslims cannot merely passively avoid Islamists like the Muslim Brotherhood and its offshoots. We need to ask ourselves: Are we Americans who happen to be Muslim or Muslims blindly demanding to be American?
Jasser has spoken out against Muslim Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) in front of Congress
On Sept. 12, 2001, I was first an American. When those planes hit the World Trade Center, they hit at the core of my being as an American. The attack on my faith by the terrorists was secondary to their attack on my homeland.
We need to focus our efforts more transparently on teaching Muslim youth that the American concepts of liberty and freedom are preferable to sharia and the Islamic state. American Muslims represent the best opportunity to fight Islamist radicalization not because we understand Islam but because we have experienced and understood what American liberty provides to the Muslim experience.
Americans must always remember the horrors of 9/11 and must be vigilant in not allowing political Islam to wear down the principles that built our country.
This center is trying to change the narrative of 9/11 — to diminish what happened at Ground Zero. That can only weaken us against the very real threat of Islamist radicalization.
American Muslims will be better served if this project is built further away from Ground Zero and focuses on leading a reform effort. If we help build anything at the WTC site itself, it should be timeless memorials to all those who lost their lives on 9/11 — memorials blind to faith, race, creed or national origin. NY POST

Muslim apostate Rifqa Bary is dying. Her parents are thrilled, now they won't have to honor-kill her.
Posted: May 24, 2010 Filed under: Persecution of Christians Leave a comment »There has been a terrible development in the case of Rifqa Bary. According to Rifqa, she has been diagnosed with advanced uterine cancer.
ATLAS SHRUGS While this is a tragedy, how she is being victimized by her lawyers and her parents is an atrocity. Her lawyers kept her in the dark about her condition – cancer – for well over a week, while they conferred with her parents and their CAIR appointed lawyers about her treatment. While most cases like this result in a hysterectomy, she is only having the advanced malignancy removed. From what I understand, the survival rate in cases like these is 5%. Her surgery is Thursday. Pray.
Was she allowed to get a second opinion? No.
While she was lying ill, her lawyers brought her parents to her hospital bed. She was strapped in for treatment and became very agitated and upset, and they had to be removed. She has broken her silence, a silence mandated by her lawyers, that she could not talk to her friends such as Jamal Jivanjee and those of us who have been unwavering in our support for Rifqa Bary’s civil rights and religious liberty.
Now she is scared. Her entire legal strategy was directed at keeping her safe and securing her immigration status, and here we are at the end of May and she has no immigration status. Upon her birthday in August 2010, she will be an illegal alien, in need of serious chemotherapy and cancer treatment. This is a horror.
Please pray for Rifqa. If you’d like to send a card:

Come to 'HezbollahLand' – the happiest terrorist place on earth
Posted: May 24, 2010 Filed under: Jihad this! Leave a comment »Think of it as an IslamoFascist Disneyland, where terrorism is tourism and Mickey Mouse is a jihadist.

I wonder if there will be an exhibit that celebrates the murder of 241 US Marines by Hezbollah in Beirut in 1983?
The students clapped and cheered as a Hezbollah fighter perched on a rocket launcher paraded past. Later, they snapped photographs with guerrilla fighters, getting a firsthand account of the group’s tactics against Israel on the battlefield.

Excursions like the one more than 400 Lebanese university students took Saturday to a Hezbollah stronghold in south Lebanon are part of the militant group’s push to promote itself through “jihadi tourism” to mark the 10th anniversary of Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon. The efforts also include a sprawling new war museum touting Hezbollah’s history.
It’s a way for the militant group to showcase its military prowess at a time when Israel and the US say the Iranian-backed group is acquiring more sophisticated weaponry. “We are bringing students to the area previously occupied by Israel, to show them how the resistance, with its meagre capabilities, was able to defeat the strongest army in the world,” said Jihad Hammoud, one of the organisers of the student tours.

Hezbollah guerrillas waged a war of attrition against Israeli forces occupying a strip of Lebanese territory along the Israeli border until May 2000, when, faced with rising casualties, Israel withdrew it troops, ending a 22-year military presence there.
The Israeli withdrawal crowned Hezbollah as a heroic organisation viewed by many Lebanese and Arabs as a liberator that won back territory without negotiations or concessions. The group further burnished its reputation after its guerrilla fighters battled the Israelis to a draw during the monthlong 2006 war.

Hezbollah has not fired any rockets on Israel since then, but is widely believed to have replenished its weapons stockpile and says it can now strike deeper into Israel. It has also consolidated its power in the domestic political arena, joining the Western-backed coalition in a national unity government that ensures it has veto power within the cabinet.

A UN deal to end the 2006 war between Israel and the Shiite militants required Hezbollah to disarm, but Lebanon’s
politicians have been unable to agree on a national defence strategy that would integrate the group’s weapons into the regular armed forces.
On Saturday, some 450 students – both Christian and Muslim – from the Lebanese American University took part in a visit dubbed “the dignity trip” to Hezbollah strongholds in south Lebanon. The outing included a visit to the wooded hills of Sojod, an area just north of an enclave that was occupied by Israel for 18 years until it pulled out its troops on May 25, 2000.

Souvenir Hezbollah flag
At the site, the students were led through the rough, rocky terrain to a spot that Hezbollah officials said was where Hadi Nasrallah, the son of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, was killed while conducting a guerrilla raid on Israeli positions in 1997.
“This is the spot where he was martyred,” explained a Hezbollah tour guide, pointing to a blue prayer mat on a mound of earth hidden amid trees. The students mingled and snapped photographs with Hezbollah fighters, who asked that no pictures of their faces be taken.
The students cheered as an anti-aircraft gunner and a katyusha rocket launcher used to fight Israel were paraded past, while speakers belted out excerpts of Nasrallah speeches.
Hezbollah has recently been trying to reinvent itself as a more conventional political movement in Lebanon, and projects such as the museum and student tours suggest the group is attempting to reach out to more factions within a Lebanese society split over Hezbollah’s divisive role in the country.
“This is an excellent, very well organised trip,” said 19-year-old Rana Mhaydleh, a student of math and science at the university. “I think it’s very important to get a first hand look at Hezbollah because there are a lot of prejudices out there.”

The weekly student tours are part of Hezbollah activities marking the anniversary of Israel’s withdrawal. The anniversary comes amid US and Israeli concerns that Hezbollah has acquired increasingly advanced weapons from backers Syria and Iran.

Hezbollah has neither confirmed nor denied the Israeli claims, but Nasrallah has said his group now has rockets that can strike deeper than ever inside Israel, including Tel Aviv. The tensions have fuelled concerns of another war in the Middle East. Hezbollah has expressed confidence that it would win a future war and says any new conflict with Israel will change the face of the region.

After Sunday’s visit to Sojod, the students were taken to a newly inaugurated Hezbollah war museum in the nearby village of Mlita, replete with war booty captured from Israeli soldiers and their Lebanese militia allies and a memorial for the group’s dead. “We hope this tourist jihadi centre will be a first step toward preserving the history of our heroic resistance,” Nasrallah told supporters via video link at Friday’s inauguration of the Mlita museum.

In a nod to Hezbollah’s rivals, Nasrallah cited Israeli Holocaust museums to stress the importance of preserving history. “Everywhere you go there is a Holocaust museum, regardless of (the Holocaust’s) authenticity, accuracy or magnitude,” he said.
The sprawling Mlita complex – 60,000 square meters – includes a gallery, caves and a 250-meter-long downhill terrain that features life size replicas of Hezbollah guerrillas simulating fighting with Israel on the battlefield and in underground tunnels.
It is not the first time the group has exhibited war booty at a museum, but the one inaugurated Friday is permanent and by far the largest. Israel has condemned such museums, saying they promote hatred. Several Lebanese officials, including representatives of the president and prime minister, attended Friday’s inauguration. Noam Chomsky, a prominent
American academic and outspoken Jewish critic of Israel, was also there.
Hezbollah and Israel fought an inconclusive monthlong war in 2006 that killed about 1,200 people in Lebanon and about 160 in Israel.
While some believe a new war is inevitable, others say the new balance of power makes it unlikely.
“The cost of an attack … has become so high that warfare no longer makes the same kind of sense it did in decades past,” wrote political analyst Rami Khouri in the Daily Star Saturday. UnDhimmi

NYC Community Board to vote on Ground Zero monster mosque even though their vote isn't needed to build it
Posted: May 24, 2010 Filed under: Islam in America Leave a comment »
So why bother voting on it at all?
Two (gutless dhimmi) board members who asked not to be identified told the Daily News that they’re against the project, but won’t come out against it publicly. Instead, they want to table the vote indefinitely. “It’s not right to build it so close to Ground Zero, and it’s not right for this board to vote on a religious center,” one member said.
Community Board 1 will meet Tuesday to vote on the Cordoba House – a planned 13-story Islamic community center and prayer space near Ground Zero. While approval from the 50-member board is not needed to build the center, the vote may indicate how residents of lower Manhattan feel about the idea.
“The community board is a good barometer of the sentiment of the people in that neighborhood,” said Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer.
The board’s 12-member Financial District committee unanimously voted in favor of the project earlier this month. “From my perspective, there’s not a lot to dislike about the project,” said Ro Scheffe, 59, a member of the committee who runs a communications firm and lives three blocks from Wall Street. Foes – including some members of the board – argue an Islamic community center so close to Ground Zero is insensitive to the families of people who died on 9/11. NY DAILY NEWS H/T herr OYAL

Proposed mosque shot down by angry Tennesseans
Posted: May 24, 2010 Filed under: Islam in America Leave a comment »
Through e-mails, blogs and word of mouth, opponents told friends and neighbors they were suspicious of the mosque and feared its leaders had ties to terrorist organizations. They encouraged citizens to write letters to the city commission expressing their concerns, including worries about traffic and flooding. Apparently, it worked. YES!
On Wednesday night, the mosque’s organizers admitted defeat. They withdrew their application to rezone 14 acres on Wilson Pike for a house of worship. Community opposition and the $450,000 cost of building a turn lane made the project untenable.
“There comes a time when you have to say, ‘We can’t do this anymore,’ ” said Jaweed Ansari, a Brentwood spokesman for the Islamic Center of Williamson County
To allay neighbors’ fears, the Islamic Center agreed to a series of restrictions on the site. The mosque would have been relatively small, with a prayer hall for about 325 people and a fellowship hall and kitchen for meals and gatherings. The mosque would not have had outside loudspeakers to broadcast a call to prayer and few outside lights.
“We started this in very good faith,” he said. “We had a neighborhood meeting, and we thought this would be a friendly thing. Instead of that, it turned out to be a very angry thing.”
SEE VIDEO: ISLAMVILLE
Matt Bonner, who lives in Nashville but is a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church, helped organize resistance to the mosque.
“Not enough people understand the political doctrine of Islam,” he said in an interview before the mosque project was withdrawn. “The fact is that the mosques are more than just a church. No one can predict what this one will be used for.”
Bonner said his suspicions about Islam were shaped in part by the writings of Bill French, a former physics professor who now runs the Nashville-based Center for the Study of Political Islam. He argues that Islam is not really a religion. Instead, Warner says that Islam is a dangerous political ideology.
Bonner also accused the Islamic Center of trying to bully the city of Brentwood into accepting its proposal. During a May 5 meeting, the center’s attorney pointed out that federal and state law gives religious institutions special protections when it comes to zoning.
Ansari says the center’s lawyer was at the meeting to protect the rights of the families who were trying to organize the mosque. Bonner didn’t see it that way. “The impression is that they are seeking special treatment,” he said. “What kind of neighbor is that who comes in threatening lawsuits?”
The accusations of bullying and ties to terrorism mystify Ansari. ”We are trying to build a place where God’s name will be glorified,” Ansari said. “The same God that the Christians and Jews worship.” (Yeah, right)
None of the organizers has any ties to extremists and they are no threat to anyone, he said. (HAH! So they ALL say)
Ansari said that he and other organizers are worn out from working on the failed Wilson Pike proposal, which took months of planning and cost thousands of dollars. (I know several locations in the Middle East where you can build your mosques but we can’t build churches. Don’t let the door hit you….)
“We’ll look for another place,” he said. “What else can we do? All of us cannot pack up and leave. (Yes, you can. I’ll even give you airfare – one way) We are here to stay. We have the same rights and freedoms as anyone else. So we’ll look for someplace else — hopefully something that will not evoke such a furor.” (How about San Francisco, there are a lot of IslamoFascist sympathizers there.) Tennessean H/T herr OYAL

FINALLY! United States condemns Iran's seat on the U.N. 'Women's Rights' Commission
Posted: May 23, 2010 Filed under: ISLAMOBAMA, Women Leave a comment »Disgracefully, it ISN’T the U.S. President doing the condemning, despite Iran being one of the worst women’s rights abusers in the world.
Last week, I published a column that details the disgraceful silence of the Obama Administration over the election of Iran to the UN women’s rights commission.
Now, Representative Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) introduced House Resolution 1371, “Condemning the selection of the Government of Iran to serve on the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.” The original Cosponsors of this measure represent a diverse, bipartisan group including Rep. Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Rep. Burton (R-IN), Rep. Campbell (R-CA), Rep. McCaul (R-TX), Rep. Inglis (R-SC), and Rep. Polis (D-CO).
On April 28, Iran was handed a seat on the UN Commission on the Status of Women despite efforts by Iranian “gender-equality activists” and supporters to block this appointment. The US Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, made no attempts to thwart Iran’s bid for a seat on this committee and on the day of the election, she did not even bother to show up for the meeting. Despite public outcry, the Obama Administration still fails to publicly condemn the appointment of Iran to the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

Several members of Congress, however, have taken the lead in voicing the concerns of the American people.
House Resolution 1371 points out that “Iran’s Islamic civil and penal codes discriminate against women” and notes that “according to the Department of State’s 2009 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices, Iranian women are only ‘nominally’ granted ‘equal protection under the law… in conformity with Islam.’” The resolution also highlights some of the human rights violations against women including:
- “under Iranian law, spousal rape is legal”
- “Iranian penal code dictates a punishment of lashings or a fine if a woman appears in public without an appropriate hijab”
- “Iranian law permits men to have as many as four wives”
- “adultery is punishable by death by stoning, and a man who kills his wife…may easily escape punishment”

The proposed resolution not only “condemns” this UN appointment, but also “calls on the Administration to denounce the selection of the Government of Iran to serve on the Commission” and “urges the President to direct the United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations to use the voice, vote, and influence of the United States at the United Nations to advocate for the removal of the Government of Iran from the Commission.”

The Representatives who cosponsored Resolution 1371 have taken leadership in Congress by standing in opposition to Iran serving on the UN’s “global policy-making body” for women’s rights. Although the Obama Administration currently still refuses to condemn the appointment of Iran to the UN women’s rights commission, Congress members are taking initiative and expressing the concerns of the American people. Voters who are interested in seeing this resolution passed should contact Congress and voice their support for House Resolution 1371. Big Government
