Bahrom Rasjid, one of the law’s drafters and a member of parliament, says the bill was passed unanimously Monday by the regional house of representatives. It will take effect within 30 days.The law imposes severe sentences for other behavior considered morally unacceptable, including homosexuality, which will be punishable by up to eight years in prison and/or flogging.
In addition, it calls for those caught having pre-marital sex to be beaten 100 times with a cane. The region has been taking steps to implement harsh Islamic Shari’a law over the last few years. Soon amputation of hands for stealing is expected to be imposed.
Shari’a or Islamic law is part of the special autonomy agreement that ended the long separatist insurgency in Aceh.
Human rights groups and members of the local government have strongly opposed the law, saying more debate is needed because it imposes capital punishment. JARKARTA POST

How far should the FBI be able to go in tracking Muslim terrorists in America?

Muslim groups like the terrorist-supporters at CAIR say surveillance techniques authorized by the Patriot Act and credited with helping nab alleged New York bomb plotter, Najibullah Zazi, are alienating potential Muslim allies against Muslim terrorists. HAH!
What Muslim allies? Have you seen any? I haven’t. The imam the FBI was working with in the Zazi case turned out to be a double agent for the terrorists.
Three arrests in three separate terror cases last week bolster the Obama administration’s call to renew the most far reaching provisions of the USA Patriot Act, which give federal agents great latitude when spying on potential suspects.
Yet they also highlight a growing unease within America’s Muslim community. For all their apparent success, the surveillance measures are overly intrusive, Muslim groups say, undermining the integration of an overwhelmingly law-abiding community. (All the terrorists have been Muslims, where should they look, in the Swedish community?)

“Almost everyone I know has been interviewed or knows someone has been interviewed by the FBI,” says Edina 
Lekovic,communications director for the Muslim Public Affairs Council. At a time when arrests in Denver, Springfield, Ill., and Dallas are revealing intimate details about the threat of domestic terrorism, however, such tactics are often the subject of praise, not scorn.
“All the layers of defense President Bush set up after Sept. 11 are working. The FBI is working more closely with local police, the Patriot Act, which allows roving wiretaps … is essential,” Rep. Peter King (R) of New York told Fox News Monday.
He said the arrest of Najibullah Zazi, the Denver airport shuttle driver indicted in a plot to blow up New York subways with homemade bombs, is enough to justify renewing the Patriot Act.
Peter King rightly states that Muslims have not been any where near cooperative enough with law enforcement.
On Tuesday, Mr. Zazi pleaded not guilty to charges of plotting terrorist attacks on New York. Meanwhile, New York police said none of Zazi’s 
accomplices, who have not yet been apprehended by law-enforcement officials, were now a threat.
Congress is currently reviewing three provisions of the Patriot Act that expire this year. Lawmakers have the chance to revise, eliminate, or extend without any revisions parts of the law passed in the aftermath of 9/11 that give law enforcement the ability access business records, conduct “roving” wiretaps, and track so-called “lone wolf” suspects not connected to terrorist groups or foreign governments.

The Obama administration supports renewal of the provisions but also said it is willing to work with Congress on any revisions.
Peter King says there are too many mosques in this country, and too many radical Islam sympathizers.
The extent of surveillance operations within the American Muslim communities is difficult to determine, since much of it involves ongoing investigations. In an attempt to force the FBI into revealing its surveillance guidelines, the group Muslim Advocates recently filed suit in federal court.
“The reason we are seeking the guidelines is because of the intensity in which the American Muslim community has come under scrutiny,” says FarhanaKhera, executive director of Muslim Advocates. (As well they should considering ALL terrorist acts have been committed Muslims since 2001)
In this atmosphere of mystery and growing mistrust, a coalition of Islamic organizations said federal agents were infiltrating mosques in Southern California and using “agent provocateurs to trap unsuspecting Muslim youth.”
“The job of the government is not to provoke someone to say something wrong and then arrest them,” says Agha Saeed, chairman of the American Muslim Taskforce. “That’s almost manufacturing a crime.”
“At the end of the day, that does not create more integration, it creates all the opposite the results that government wants,” he adds. (Good! Go back where you came from)
LA MUSLIMS have their panties in a wad over plan for mapping Muslims. Sadly, they were successful in stopping it.
The FBI has repeatedly denied that it randomly targets any one group or person because of their religion or ethnicity and says they only begin an investigation when they have cause. (That’s dumb, they should monitor Muslims 24/7)
But the American Civil Liberties Union and many Muslim groups have asked Congress to add constitutional protections to the Patriot Act that would limit some of the FBI’s ability to begin wiretaps and collect information.(Say goodbye to terrorist arrests in that case)
“The expiration of the three Patriot Act provisions is an opportunity to reexamine surveillance law and reject sections that waste law enforcement resources by targeting law abiding Americans without any suspicion of criminal activity,” said Faiza Ali, community affairs director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, in an e-mail. “We perceive that trust between the American Muslim community and the FBI remains an issue, especially given concerns of confidential informants and agent provocateurs in places of worship.” CS MONITOR

Three Jordanians kill their sister over ‘bad reputation’

AMMAN—In that bastion of ‘modern’ Islam in Jordan, three men were charged with premeditated murder after allegedly stabbing to death their divorced sister as well as burning her body and house over her “bad reputation,” police said.
“The three brothers all under 30, agreed to kill their 40-year-old sister on Sunday because she allegedly had a bad reputation,” in Abu Alanda, in southeast Amman, a police spokesman told AFP.
“She was stabbed 15 times. One of the three told police that the mother of five had a love affair with a man and that he found pictures of the woman sitting with her alleged lover.”
The spokesman said the suspects “burned the victim’s body and set ablaze her house to cover the crime.”
“They were arrested at hospital after being treated for burns. They confessed to the murder,” added.
Murder is punishable by the death penalty in Jordan but in the case of so-called “honour killings” a court usually commutes or reduces sentences, particularly if the victim’s family urges leniency.
The US-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) urged Jordan earlier this month to reform its penal code, which it says condones the murder of women as “honour crimes.”
In the past, parliament has refused to institute harsher penalties.
Around 15-20 women are murdered each year in Jordan in the name of honour, despite government efforts to fight such crimes. So far this year, there have been 16 reported. GOOGLE NEWS

US forces Israel to remove checkpoints, Palestinian rocket attacks increase

[9/16 ] As US Middle East envoy George Mitchell continued his shuttle diplomacy trying to restart the diplomatic process, the Israeli army on Wednesday began removing 100 dirt and stone roadblocks, in an effort to make life easier for Palestinians. [9/30] Palestinian terrorist forces operating out of the Gaza Strip fired two rockets into southern Israel on Tuesday evening. One of the rockets landed just outside the southern coastal city of Ashkelon, the first direct attack on that city in over two months.
Local officials blamed the attack on Israel’s decision under pressure from the US to remove Israeli army checkpoints in the area.
Israeli warplanes responded to the rocket fire by attacking Palestinian smuggling tunnels running under the Gaza-Egypt border early Wednesday morning.
Israeli security officials have noted a marked increase in violence emanating from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip over the past month. Many fear a return to the daily attacks that plagued southern Israel prior to the Gaza war in January.
In other violence, Palestinian terrorist gunmen shot and moderately wounded an Israeli motorist near the Samarian Jewish town of Shilo on Tuesday night. ISRAEL TODAY

9/30 Bethlehem – Ma’an/Agencies – An unidentified Israeli settler was shot in his car while traveling in the occupied West Bank near the illegal settlement of Shvut Rachel north of Jerusalem Tuesday night, Israeli media sources reported. The man suffered mild to moderate wounds when a bullet hit his hand. Israeli police and border guards said the shots came from “unknown assailants,” but noted they may have come from “terrorists situated at the side of the road.”

Since 2001, rocket and mortar shell fire has been directly responsible for the deaths of 24 Israelis and the wounding of 620. This statistic does not take into account the massive psychological cost borne by the190,000 Israelis who live within striking range. With a population more than three times that of Israel, the corresponding American figures would be 240 killed and 6,200 wounded.

FRANCE offers certificates of virginity as well as surgery to restore virginity.
A recent case in which a French court annulled a marriage of two Muslims after it was discovered the bride was not virgin brings hymenoplasty to the news again.
Hymenoplasty or restoring a woman’s virginity by surgically reattaching the hymen, is fast becoming a phenomenon of sorts among women of Muslim origin 
in Europe, especially France, Germany, Sweden and indeed other parts of the world, too.
The surgery in the private clinic off the Champs-Élysées involved one semicircular cut, 10 self-dissolving stitches and a discounted fee of $2,900.But for the patient, a 23-year-old French student of Moroccan descent from Montpellier, the 30-minute procedure represented the key to a new life: the illusion of virginity.
Like an increasing number of other Muslim women in Europe, she had a “hymenoplasty,” a restoration of her hymen, the thin vaginal membrane that normally breaks during the first act of intercourse. ”In my culture, not to be a virgin is to be dirt,” said the student, perched on a hospital bed as she awaited surgery Thursday. “Right now, virginity is more important to me than life.”
As Europe’s Muslim population grows, many young Muslim women find themselves caught between the freedoms that European society affords and the deep-rooted traditions of their parents’ and grandparents’ generations
But now the chair of the French College of Gynecologists and Obstetricians is calling for an end to this practice in France. Dr. Jacques Lansac believes there is no place for this kind of surgery in secular French society…he believes that giving in to a procedure like this goes against all that France stands for…equality of women, human rights, religious extremism etc.
But how do we turn our backs on these women who in all likelihood could be killed by their fathers, brothers or husbands (Honor killings) if it is found out that they are not virgins? Aren’t doctors morally bound to help these women who could face certain death if they are discovered to be non-virgins?
DENMARK: Medical association calls on doctors to stop performing tests to prove virginity of young Muslim women
Concerns that an increasing number of young Muslim women are being sent to doctors to prove that they 
are virgins has social workers and doctors taking steps to help them. ‘These girls are incredibly afraid of this examination, because many aren’t virgins,’ she said. The Danish Medical Association has urged its members not to carry out virginity exams.
Frederiksberg-based general practitioner Dr Sabbir Ahmed said it was wrong for parents to demand their daughters undergo the examination. But he still issued the documentation if could help his patient. ‘The girls are under enormous pressure from their families,’ said Ahmed. ‘I can sense that, and that puts pressure on me as a doctor.’
VIRGINITY OPERATIONS all the rage in Denmark
Muslim girls who had premarital sex often have an operation so it looks like their hymen is intact. They are namely afraid of being outcast (or honor killed) by their family. But it can’t be right that women’s fears brings them to the operating table, thinks nurse and social worker Kristine Abu-Khader Aamand, who today started a site about hymen operations.
When the doctors make the girls virgin again, they go in and sew the vagina with a couple of stitches, so the man feels resistance during sex, and the operation is what some Muslim girls do.
“Because they believe that if they don’t bleed on the sheet on the wedding night, it can cause them frightful consequences,” (like murder) says Kristine Abu-Khader Aamand, whose site gives Muslim girls the dry facts and tears down the myths.

Despite what science says about the hymen, many young Muslim women are worried their husband will find out on their wedding night that they are not virgin. It’s the woman’s, or the who family’s honor, which is based on the hymen. It’s super-sensitive, says Anna, who works at Systerjouren Somaya.

Systerjouren Somaya in Stockholm was started by Muslim girls to support Muslim girls. Many girls who call Somaya are scared for their lives. Anna says that it’s scary how many have to deal with it.
The girls who turn to Somaya can be desperate. Their wedding day is approaching and they want help sawing up what they believe is their hymen so that their husband won’t know that they aren’t virgins. In fact, only a third of girls bleed, even if they never had sex before. But there are many who don’t understand it, says Åsa Svensson, of a youth clinic in Gothenburg.

Al-Qaeda #2 says Barack Hussein Obama is a criminal

Al-Qaeda’s second-in-command branded US President Barack Obama a criminal who turns a blind eye to the expansion of Israeli settlements, in an audiotape broadcast by Al-Jazeera television on Monday.
“Have we realised the truth of Obama the criminal, or do we still need more crimes to be carried out in Kabul, Baghdad, Mogadishu and Gaza to be sure of his criminality?” Ayman al-Zawahiri asked.
“Have we realised the lowliness of America under the leadership of the smiling and wooing Obama?” (He’s got that part right) he asked in the recording which could not be immediately authenticated.
Zawahiri accused the US president of showing little interest in curbing the growth of Israeli settlements on Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, while at the same time forcing Arab leaders to make further concessions to Israel. (That is so not true. Only Israel is being asked to make concessions)
“Obama leaves the settlements spread in the West Bank and around Jerusalem, showing little remorse, while he presses the surrendering (Arab) rulers to give in further,” he charged.
Egypt-born Zawahiri, the right-hand man of Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, was speaking in a recording released to praise the former leader of Pakistan’s Taliban who is believed to have been killed in a US attack in August.
Zawahiri eulogised Baitullah Mehsud in the 28-minute statement, reported IntelCenter, a US-based group which monitors Islamist websites. US and Pakistani officials said Mehsud had most probably died after a missile attack by an American drone in August.
In a recording posted on the Internet on September 23, Zawahiri said Obama would be defeated by Islamist fighters. (Now that IS good news) SIFY via Europe News
