HALAL (Islam-approved) slaughter of animals does not permit the animals to be stunned (like numbing) prior to having their throats cut. This means that just as Muslims behead humans, they cut the throats of animals, thereby inflicting maximum suffering.

Halal means any item on the menu which may contain bacon, ham or pork must be removed and all the chicken must by halal-approved. Under the rules, the animal should be killed by having its throat cut by a Muslim and any flowing blood of the carcass should be completely drained.

In Muslim countries, fast-food giants like McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, KFC andBurger King have long served halal meat and have become popular teen hangouts. In the West, chains are only now picking up on the halal market. McDonald’shas two halal franchises in Dearborn, Mich., one in Australia and isconsidering one in Britain. A Subway location in New Jersey adopted halal about two years ago. Melbourne, Australia--McDONALD’S latest bid to attract more customers — Muslim fast-food lovers — has caused uproar among customers. The fast-food chain has introduced halal products at two Melbourne restaurants.

However some non-Muslim customers are furious they were not told their hamburger meat was slaughtered and blessed in accordancewith Islamic rules laid down in the Koran. McDonald’s consulted Muslim leaders before introducing halal products at its Brunswick East and St Albans stores. Halal meat is from animals that have been killed facing Mecca and blessed using the name of Allah.

But The store does not tell drive-through customers about the change and has only one small sign inside advertising the move. Coburg resident Miriam McLennan was stunned to discover the hamburger she bought from the Brunswick East store was blessed. ”Just as a Muslim would not want to eat anything that isn’t halal . . . I should have my rights to eat normal, ordinary food that hasn’t been blessed,” she said. A Catholic Church spokesman said non-Muslims deserved to know if the food was halal before buying. NEWS

McDonald’s wants to offer HALAL products at all its UK outlets.

McDonald’s, the fast food giant, is looking at how its supply chain and production processes could be changed. Selling halal products to Muslims would boost the chain’s sales in many parts of the UK. A spokeswoman said McDonald’s is taking a long-term look at possible ways of introducing the products.

McDonald’s chief executive Steve Easterbrook said developing halal products would not be easy. ”It is a really complicated area. Different religious groups have different interpretations of what halal meat is,” he said. ”We need to ask about animal welfare and preparing halal meat. We want to be entirely comfortable in genuinely offering it.” METRO UK

Fast food chain KFC converts eight London restaurants to HALAL-only menu.

Fast food giant Kentucky Fried Chicken is to launch a halal-only menu in eight of its London stores in a move which could be extended to other areas of the UK.

The menu, which will form part of a trial, will see the stores selling chicken products which have been fully approved by the Halal Food Authority for the first time. KFC has 720 stores across the UK, and bosses said the move was designed to ensure the company was catering to a broader range of customers, following a growing demand for halal products.

It is the latest fast food chain to introduce a halal-only menu after Domino’s launched one at a Birmingham store in February.

From this week, KFC bargain buckets, crispy strips and family feasts will all have the halal-approved stamp. Over the next few months it will closely monitor customer feedback in the chosen outlets and if it is good they will be permanently converted to 100 per cent halal.

The move follows a similar decision made by Dominos Pizza, which launched a halal only menu at its Hall Green store in Birmingham earlier this year amid a storm of controversy. (Yeah the hell with what non-Muslims want)

Chris Yates, 29, a hospital worker living in Moseley, Birmingham, said he was told he couldn’t have a ‘Meteor’ pizza, topped with pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, ground beef and smoky bacon, when he called up at the weekend.

Though the Christian faith allows the eating of meat sacrificed to foreign gods, no one is forcing Christians to eat meat sacrificed to the moon god allah.
