MANA Condemns Alledged Plot to Bomb New York Synagogues

Lexington, KY (05/22/09) - The Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA) strongly and unequivocally condemns the recent alleged plot to bomb two New York synagogues and to shoot down American military airplanes.  The accused suspects are said to be affiliated with the American Muslim community. 

Terrorist acts are prohibited in Islam, (This is getting really old)  and MANA rejects any Islamically-based interpretation that purports to justify these or any other terrorist acts.  The Holy Qur’an clearly states that killing one innocent person is like killing the whole of humanity (5:32).  MANA stands united with other American Muslim organizations to condemn, confront, and challenge Muslim extremism.

While condemning the alleged bomb plot and the individuals said to be involved, MANA is concerned that their case might involve a paid FBI agent-provocateur who did not join an existing plot but actually manufactured and facilitated the plot.  The FBI’s use of agent-provocateurs who instigate terrorism by preying upon those who are angry and alienated is not an effective or ethical way of fighting terrorism.  Such tactics engender suspicion of the FBI within the American Muslim community, and further compromises what could be a strategic and effective partnership to combat Muslim extremism. New York Terror Plot Spotlights Radical Islam in Prisons 

According to the Associated Press, the men became acquainted with each other and with jihadist ideology while incarcerated. Prison brought the quartet together and the subcultures of prison extremism remained a constant factor in their lives. As habitual criminals, the four men seem more characteristic of a gang-style phenomenon known as “prison Islam,” in which drug users and other offenders adopt Islamic trappings to intimidate other inmates, than of the Nation of Islam or the Wahhabism that has been introduced into many American prisons by extremist chaplains.

But under the tutelage of Cromitie, they appear to have graduated from “prison Islam” to serious jihadist ambitions. The Daily News reports that Cromitie, on his way to a Philadelphia meeting of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA), spewed threats to “destroy a synagogue.” MANA is led, according to its website, by Siraj Wahhaj, one of the most flamboyant hate mongers in American Islam. The website also claims support for MANA from the supposed “Sufi” and “peace apostle” Hamza Yusuf Hanson and his associate Zaid Shakur, as well as other prominent Islamists, such as Ihsan Bagby and Abdul Hakim Jackson. Why does ISLAMObama want to send terrorists to the biggest breeding ground for Islamic terrorists – U.S. prisons?

Michelle Malkin points out that President Obama’s speech on homeland security was 6,072 words long. Curiously, he chose not to spare an “a,” “and” or “uh” on the New York City terror bust that dominated headlines the morning of his address.

Did the TelePrompTer run out of room? After a yearlong investigation launched by the Bush administration, the feds cracked down on a ring of murder-minded black Muslim jailhouse converts preparing to bomb two Bronx synagogues and “eager to bring death to Jews.” Not one word from the president on the jihadists’ intended victims, motives or means. No comfort for the reported targets in the Big Apple, still raw from the Scare Force One rattling that so vainly and recklessly simulated 9/11.

No condemnation for the accused plotters. To borrow one of our obtuse president’s favorite clichés, “let me be perfectly clear” about the reality Obama won’t touch: America faces an ongoing Islamic jihad at home and abroad not merely “man caused” but Koran inspired. 

 

Moreover, his push to transfer violent Muslim warmongers into our civilian prisons — where they have proselytized and plotted with impunity — will only make the problem worse.

In 2005, Bush administration officials busted a terrorist plot to attack infidels at military and Jewish sites in Los Angeles on the fourth anniversary of 9/11 or the Jewish holy days. It was devised by militant Muslim converts of Jam’iyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh (Arabic for “Assembly of Authentic Islam”) who had sworn allegiance to violent jihad at California’s New Folsom State Prison.  

Convicted terror conspirator José Padilla converted to Islam during a stint at a Broward County, Fla., jail.

Convicted “shoe bomber” Richard Reid converted to Islam with the help of an extremist imam in a British prison. Aqil Collins, a self-confessed jihadist turned FBI informant, converted to Islam while doing time in a California juvenile detention center.

In East Texas, inmates were recruited with a half-hour videotape featuring the anti-Semitic rants of California-based Imam Muhammad Abdullah, who claims that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were actually carried out by the Israeli and US governments.

Federal correction officials told congressional investigators during the Bush years “that convicted terrorists from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing were put into their prisons’ general population, where they radicalized inmates and told them that terrorism was part of Islam.”

Despite the insistence of Obama and the Jihadi Welcome Wagon that our civilian prisons are perfectly secure, convicted terrorist aide Lynne Stewart helped jailed 1993 World Trade Center bombing/NY landmark bombing plot mastermind Omar Abdel-Rahman smuggle coded messages of Islamic violence to outside followers, in violation of an explicit pledge to abide by her client’s court-ordered isolation.

As I’ve reported previously, US Bureau of Prison reports have warned for years that our civilian detention facilities are major breeding grounds for Islamic terrorists.

What’s Obama’s plan to prevent the jihadi virus from spreading? Washing hands and covering mouths won’t work for this disease.

Perhaps motivated by recent news that Tennessee has become a stronghold for radical Islamic forces, leading Islamophobes from around the world will be gathering in Nashville at the Loews Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel May 29-30 for “Understanding the Jihad in Israel, Europe and America,” the first annual symposium presented by the online pub New English Review.

What is the New English Review, you ask? I’m still scratching my head on that one, too. There’s no discernible mission statement or “about us” page, though there are individual bios of the various editors, publishers and contributors. A brief stroll through NER‘s current featured headlines reveals heady, reasonably well-written stories reflecting a nonetheless kooky, far-right stance. Think of it asThe New Yorker for the Teabagger set. A short story titled “The Blasphemy,” by Ares Demertzis, is a parable whose message could simply be put as “Kill the Muslims before they kill you.” (And that’s a BAD idea because why?)

Therein lies the thematic thread running through NER: Islam is an inherently sinister religion, and it’s coming to gitcha! It’s all there in the Koran, people! This has nothing to do with complex geopolitical situations, poverty or extremism, folks. (Typical liberal psychobabble) The problem is simply that Islam and its Koran are inherently evil, according to the folks at NER. (I wonder if they’ve read our ”holy book” lately–some of the stuff in there is pretty batshit crazy too, no? Not to mention our beloved Rummy’s use of Christian scripture to promote the war in Iraq.)

And amusingly, one of the common gripes they all express is how Islam divides the world into believers and nonbelievers. Why does that sound familiar? Seems to remind me of some other religion I keep hearing about. Child abuse  found in an undercover investigation being done in Al-Farooq mosque in Nashville, TN.

A counter-terrorism expert researching extremism at U.S. mosques claims authorities in Nashville, Tenn., ignored his report of child abuse by teachers at a local mosque due to fear of retribution from Muslim organizations such at the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Dave Gaubatz, a former Air Force special agent, told WND he informed the local prosecutor, the FBI and Sgt. Brooks Harris of the Metropolitan Police Department in Nashville of a 7-year-old girl who says teachers at the Al-Farooq mosque “hit the children” during Shariah, or Islamic law, lessons. WND

What has been exposed is unthinkable. This is video footage of a first-hand undercover investigation done in Al-Farooq mosque. Listen to a 7 year old talk about her husband and how they are beaten during shariah class. The video is just the sound, as these kids are in tremendous danger and the undercover person inside needed to hide the camera deeply. We are working on the sound quality. In arguing against bail, Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Snyder told the judge they were “disappointed…that the best target (the World Trade Center) was hit already,” he said, adding that the men were “eager to bring death to Jews.” He also said Cromitie wanted to see what he did on TV and be able to say, “I’m the one who did that.”

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Four men arrested after planting what they thought were explosives near two New York City synagogues were disappointed that the World Trade Center wasn’t still around to attack, a federal prosecutor said Thursday as the men appeared in court for the first time.

The suspects were arrested Wednesday night, shortly after planting a 37-pound mock explosive device in the trunk of a car outside the Riverdale Temple and two mock bombs in the backseat of a car outside the Riverdale Jewish Center, another synagogue a few blocks away, authorities said. Police blocked their escape with an 18-wheel truck, smashing their tinted SUV windows and apprehending the unarmed suspects. 

Authorities said the men also plotted to shoot down a military plane. Lawyers for the defendants, all of whom are U.S. citizens, did not seek bail.

James Cromitie, 55; David Williams, 28; Onta Williams, 32; and Laguerre Payen, all of Newburgh, were charged with conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction within the United States and conspiracy to acquire and use anti-aircraft missiles.

NYC Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly  said, ”They stated that they wanted to commit jihad,” and he believed the men knew each other through prison. (Where Obama wants to send the Gitmo terrorists) An official told The Associated Press that three of the men are converts to Islam.
