Perhaps Obama can incorporate the Taliban system of punishment over here for the terrorists, so we won’t have to bother with costly trials at taxpayer expense.
Two men who have been found guilty of kidnapping and killing a taxi driver are taken outside. They are blindfolded.
Their victim’s relatives have been given two options. They can claim blood money in compensation from the accused – a sum of two million rupees is mentioned, a veritable fortune here. Or they can take the other option: revenge. They can decide the alleged murderers should die and they can pull the triggers themselves.
They take the second option. The men are placed up against a brick wall. The crowd that has gathered are held back. The victim’s relatives step forward. They are almost on top of the two accused but still the first few bullets do not deliver the killer blow.
One stays standing for what seems like several seconds, before they both crumple to the ground and the crowd surges forward. Justice has been done and been seen to be done.
It isn’t much, but with the appoiuntment of less radical ministers in the Saudi Government, there could finally be a law that would make 17, the minimum age at which girls could marry.
An appeals court in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has rejected and refused to certify a court ruling allowing a 47-year-old man’s marriage to an 8-year-old girl, said a relative of the girl with knowledge of the proceedings. Under the Saudi legal process, what the appeals court ruling means is that the controversial marriage is still in effect, but a challenge to the marriage by the girl’s mother is still alive. The appeals court action now sends the case back to the earlier judge, who will decide whether to stand by his original decision.
The case, which has garnered much criticism from rights groups within and outside Saudi Arabia, came to light in December when the Onaiza judge refused to annul the marriage on a legal technicality. Sheikh Habib Abdallah al-Habib’s dismissal of the mother’s petition for annulment sparked immediate outrage.
But in ‘the more things change, the more they remain the same’ school of thought, Saudi prince says, “Islamic Saudi Arabia has no need for women members of parliament or elections.”
There are no political parties in Saudi Arabia but reform activists hope the advisory Shura Council — an all-male body appointed by the king — will be transformed into an elected legislature one day. ”Appointing the members always ensures that the best are selected,” Interior Minister Prince Nayef said in comments carried by al-Jazirah daily. “If it was to happen through elections, the members would not have had been this competent.”
Asked if that could include women, he said: “I don’t see the need for that.”
Diplomats say the inner circle of powerful Saudi royals are divided over political reforms. Prince Nayef, half-brother to King Abdullah, is seen as a hawk opposed to changes. Saudi men were allowed to vote for some seats on municipal councils in 2005. The king has promoted cautious reforms as part of an effort to combat radicalism that was launched after the September 11 attacks of 2001. Last month, the king broke with tradition to appoint a woman as deputy education minister.
The royal family rules in alliance with powerful clerics who oversee the application of Islamic sharia law. They say women should cover their faces in public and try to prevent them mixing with unrelated men. Women are barred from driving.
What? Now we have a Muslim director of the ACLU’s ‘National Security Project?’ I guess that’s no worse than having a liberal director.
GW Bush denied entry into the U.S. for this terrorist-supporting ‘scholar’ and now even the Obama Administration has done the same. So what’s the problem?
Tariq Ramadan is one of many writers and scholars denied entry to the United States on the basis of their political views. Jameel Jaffer, director of the ACLU National Security Project and attorney Melissa Goodman discuss the case.
He spoke about the Palestinians having a “partner for peace”, and of helping them to build “a strong economy”. But a day after Binyamin Netanyahu secured the centre-left Labor Party into his coalition he made no mention of the Palestinian’s quest for statehood. In fact the Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat has told Al Jazeera that Netanyahu’s proposed coalition remains the most extreme in the country’s history.
There has been a news blackout in France on the subject of this lil’ Boo-Boo. Coverage of the story was deemed to beINSULTING TO MUSLIMS!
This brand new Airbus 340-600 pictured above, with zero commercial air miles, and costing $300 Million US dollars, was sitting in its hangar inToulouse, France , when enters the seven member Arab flight crew of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT).
They were to conduct pre-delivery tests on the ground, such as engine run-ups, prior to delivery to Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi .
The ADAT crew taxied this A340-600 to the landing strip where they then throttled all four engines to maximum power. NOT a bright idea. Not having read the aircraft’s operations manual, they had no clue just how light an empty A340-600 really is.
The takeoff warning horn started blaring away in the cockpit because these witless- wonders had all 4 engines at full throttle. The computers thought they were trying to take off but the aircraft prevented such due to the flaps & slats not being in their proper setting allowing for safe takeoff.Enter one of the quick witted ADAT crew who decided to pull the circuit breaker on the Ground Proximity Sensor thus silencing the annoying alarm. NOT a good idea…
This caused the aircraft to think it was airborne and possibly about to land.As a result, the computers automatically released all brakes which set the aircraft rocketing forward. The ADAT crew had no idea that this is a design safety feature preventing pilots from landing the aircraft with brakes applied.
None of the witless seven-man crew thought to throttle back the engines from their max power setting resulting in the $300 million brand-new A340-600 to crash, head first, a mile later into a blast barrier, totaling the aircraft!
No muss, no fuss, Execution Buses make it easy to take care of the people who masterminded 9/11 and other attacks.
KHALID SHEIKH MOHAMMED
China is innovating in the market of death with a fleet of execution buses in which convicts are efficiently and cleanly put to death by lethal injection.
MUHAMMED SAAD
The mobile death chamber means executions can be ordered and carried out by courts in towns and villages around a particular province, with executioners and medical staff shuttling between different jurisdictions. Authorities say the initiative is a deterrent against crime.
“First, we established there was demand for execution vehicles. Then we designed the vehicles and applied to the government for certification. Viewed in the online catalogue, the bus looks innocuous enough from the outside. Mr Zhang explained how criminals are tied hand and foot to a stretcher at the back, then injected with a cocktail of lethal toxins. The bus also features a video monitoring system, to ensure that executions comply with state rules, he explained.
ABDULLAH SALEH al-AJMI released from Gitmo in 2005 carried out a suicide bombing in Iraq
The execution bus also makes it easier to use organs from prisoners for transplants, with doctors and nurses on hand to make sure they are transferred swiftly. (WOW! A twofer)This practice has been attacked as inhumane, although the Chinese government insists it takes place with the permission of the donors and their families.
Before creation of the buses, the condemned were executed by being shot in the back of the head, but executioners were often forced to wear rubber boots, because of the large amount of blood involved in shootings, and occasionally prisoners had to be shot several times before finally dying. One reason why executioners wanted a different method was because many of those killed were drug traffickers, and were said to have HIV/Aids. Executioners said they were worried they would become infected by spraying blood.
A Tunisian pilot who paused to pray instead of taking emergency measures before crash-landing his plane, killing 16 people, has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by an Italian court along with his co-pilot.
So, of course the first thing I wanted to do is confirm the religion of this Tunisian pilot.
Tunisian Religion
Islam is the religion of about 99% of the population in Tunisia. It is also the religion of the State according to the Constitution. Such poles of religious learning, as Zeitouna Mosque in Tunis and the city of Kairouan, have for centuries provided enlightened and progressive interpretations of Islam to the world. The Tunisian state assumes today the role of protector of the Islamic faith in the country.
The 2005 crash at sea off Sicily left survivors swimming for their lives, some clinging to a piece of the fuselage that remained floating after the ATR turbo-prop aircraft splintered upon impact.
Oops, I guess this pilot didn't read the sign in the plane's prayer room
A fuel-gauge malfunction was partly to blame but prosecutors also said the pilot succumbed to panic, praying out loud instead of following emergency procedures and then opting to crash-land the plane instead trying to reach a nearby airport.
However prosecutors also said the pilot succumbed to panic, praying out loud instead of following emergency procedures.
Another five employees of Tuninter, a subsidiary of Tunisair, were sentenced to between eight and nine years in jail by the court, in a verdict handed down on Monday.
It’s not just for breakfast anymore. New Yorkers go hog wild for new bacon products. I wonder when CAIR will come out to protest them for being ‘offensive to Muslims?’
BACON DONUTS
Everybody’s favorite pork product has hit the dining room in a whole new array of delicious guises from sticky-sweet bar snacks to smoky bourbons to decadent butterscotch-filled doughnuts. And ba-connoisseurs not to mention the blogs, clubs and societies that cater to them are salivating for more.
The latest entry in the bacon bonanza: this Sunday’s Bacon Takedown at Radegast Hall (113 N. Third St., Williamsburg, Brooklyn) in which 30 contestants will “ride the bacon war pig” by each whipping up a bacon-based dish. For $10, attendees will get to sample them all, then vote on their favorite.
BACON CUPCAKES
But not all contestants are going the savory route. “Bacon is fatty, salty and tastes good on anything including cupcakes,” says Keavy Landreth, the 26-year-old owner of Kumquat Cupcakery, who is creating a maple pecan and bacon cupcake for the competition. Indeed, Landreth likens bacon’s popularity to that of the cupcake both have always been considered delicious, even if they seem to be capturing an inordinate amount of the public imagination lately.
CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON
CARAMEL BACON POPCORN
The Bacon Explosion is just the latest example of bacon gone berserk you can now buy bacon-flavored mints and bacon-print suits prompting a bacon backlash of sorts in the media. Last year, Salon published an article that asked, “Will hype and gimmickry (bacon cocktails, anyone?) spoil the great salty meat?” Local food blog Grub Street has also been critical of the bacon juggernaut, boldly declaring it had “jumped the shark” meaning the craze has gotten so over-the-top, it’s become a parody of itself. Of course, bacon aficionados are quick to challenge the haters.
“What is more annoying than an overexposed trend? How about people who think it’s trendy to declare a trend dead?” wrote Heather Lauer in Bacon Unwrapped earlier this month. Bacon Takedown’s Timms agrees. “All it will ever be is delicious . . . I don’t see people getting sick of bacon anytime soon.”
Muslims working at Target, protest and refuse to handle any pork products, even packaged ones.
The West could take a lesson from KYRGYSTAN’S police who know how to deal with Muslims trying to overthrow the government via an Islamic Revolution. Are you listening, Gordon Brown?
This is a report from al-Jazeera, so pay no attention when the always pro-Muslim Human Rights groups accuse the government of Kyrgyzstan of using increasingly brutal tactics against religious groups. More than 30 people were recently arrested and accused of belonging to an Islamic group, which authorities say is a “terrorist organization”.
Iranian leaders want to impose the Death Penalty on Internet Bloggers who post offensive material (about Islam), believing that a sentence of death is the only way to control this modern phenomenon.
Most British Pakistanis are believed to come from Kashmir
March 24, 2009 Sky News has learned that Pakistan’s intelligence service has tracked more than 20 Britons who’ve been trained by militants in Pakistan and who have now returned to Britain. Their names are expected to be handed over to their British counterparts soon.
The tracked men are said to have trained with extremist outfits linked to al Qaeda and the Taliban and are thought to pose a potential threat to British security. The dossier of names is expected to be handed over to British anti-terrorist teams soon and is being seen as a big leap forward in the sharing of intelligence between the two countries. But British authorities may wonder why the names were not But British authorities may wonder why the names were not handed over before the suspects re-entered the UK.
The details have been compiled by Pakistan’s intelligence service – the ISI – and follow the Prime Minister Gordon Brown‘s declaration that three-quarters of all serious terror plots in Britain have their roots in Pakistan.
Recruit is trained to use a suicide bomb vest
The suspects are aged between 17 and 23 and have apparently created “sufficient suspicion” with their activities for the ISI to believe they pose a “potential danger” to Britain. At least four are thought to have been fighting in Afghanistan - which means they may well have been attacking British troops there.
Combat training in the mountains of Pakistan
Intelligence officials say they have also heard “English accents” while listening to satellite and mobile phone chatter between the UK and Pakistan’s tribal heartlands. Eleven of the Britons claimed they were studying in Pakistan while seven said they were visiting relatives.
But in the UK, there are fears that targeting the British Pakistani community as a whole because of the actions of a tiny minority will create a further sense of alienation. (Awwwwwww!)
According to some community workers, many British Pakistanis are already resentful due to the way they feel Government initiatives have singled them out. The Pakistani Community Centre in Derby recently received funding from the Government’s Prevent programme – an initiative that aims to fund community projects in a bid to counter radicalisation.
The British Pakistani community is the largest ethnic group in the UK’s Muslim population.
British Pakistanis may 'feel victimised, bullied and picked on' Awwwww!
The Pakistani Community Centre in Derby recently received funding from the Government’s Prevent programme – an initiative that aims to fund community projects in a bid to counter radicalisation.
Shokat Lal, Derby Muslim Forum chairman, told Sky News that many people in his area were deeply suspicious about what the money was actually for.
Muslims are offended at this policy
He said:“There has been a number of people from within the Muslim community who have gone round telling people that this money is all about community-led intelligence – spying on your own community, rather than actually about doing something positive and constructive.
“If you keep on treating people as perpetrators or keep on accusing them of doing something that they’re not involved in, sooner or later that perpetrator mentality will start to stick.SKY NEWS
“If you see something, say something.”
Britain’s umteenth new anti-terrorism plan calls for 60,000 UK citizens to be on the lookout for suspicious behavior by Muslims. Of course the Muslims are enraged that they are the targets of such scrutiny. So Gordon Brown decided to include many ‘moderate’ Muslims in his posse.
HAH! So Gordie, you’re going to have the fox guarding the henhouse. I see.
Of course the liberals are out in force now that British police have asked Londoners to report “odd-looking” photographers and houses with “unusual activity”.
STUPID LIBERAL David Murakami Wood is a university lecturer and researcher specialised in the impact of surveillance systems on society. This campaign is supposedly encouraging people to report their suspicions on terrorist activity, but is in fact just another step on the illiberal, socially divisive and stupid road towards a McCarthyite Britain, where British people are expected to spy on each other in the name of security.
Apart from encouraging people to rifle through their neighbours’ garbage, the most disturbing thing about this new campaign is the way in which it implies that any interest in CCTV cameras is a potentially terrorist activity. … Effectively, we are being officially instructed to ignore the cameras and pretend we don’t see them. Rather than being a legitimate political response to a repressive, undemocratic and unaccountable growth in surveillance, ‘interest’ in CCTV is now regarded as suspicious in itself.
This is particularly problematic for researchers like me. We’ll see what happens when I am back in London in May and June, when I will be taking a lot of pictures of CCTV as part of my project, which is of course, ironically, sponsored by an official British state research council.”
Video Of Taliban Terror Training Camps In Pakistan
Sky News has obtained new video of Taliban training camps and the murder of Pakistani security forces. This report contains evidence of extreme violence and shows video of the moments immediately before death.
Maybe THESE are the ‘moderate’ Taliban that Obama wants to negotiate with?
Hey, at least the British are not afraid to call a terrorist a terrorist, unlike our Homeland Security Secretary who has made the word ‘terrorism’ politically incorrect.
If you are as fed up as I am with the Islamification of your country, then you can peacefully, legally, and economically Boycott Islam at a local and national level.
Some examples:
Avoid Muslim businesses, shops, restaurants, cafes, kebab shops, takeaways, car hire firms, taxis, video shops, phone shops, cafes, hotels, airlines, travel agents, engineers, plumbers, mechanic stores, Dentists, Doctors, pharmacists, carpenters, charities, etc.(If you are in NYC, this could mean taking the bus or walking rather than taking a taxi)
Avoid supermarkets, food chains, restraunts, cafes, etc that sell and promote Halal meat. Be warned, not all Muslim shops promote Halal, but a lot of European or American cooperations do, such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Subway, etc). Instead use farmers markets, grow your own food if you have enough garden space, and use your local non-Muslim shops.
Are you now, or have you ever been a member of an anti-abortion group? Have you ever displayed political paraphernalia supporting a third-party candidate or a certain Republican member of Congress? Have you ever possessed subversive literature or viewed conservative websites like Bare Naked Islam? Obama says you might be a member of a domestic paramilitary group.
That’s according to “The Modern Militia Movement,” a report by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC), a government collective that identifies the warning signs of potential domestic terrorists for law enforcement communities.
Obama is seen as tight on gun control and many extremists fear that he will enact firearms confiscations.”(ONLY extremists? I think not)
People who supported former third-party presidential candidates like Texas Rep. Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin and former Georgia Rep. Bob Barr are cited in the report, in addition to anti-abortion activists and conspiracy theorists who believe the United States, Mexico and Canada will someday form a North American Union.
“Militia members most commonly associate with 3rd party political groups,” the report reads. “It is not uncommon for militia members to display Constitutional Party, Campaign for Liberty or Libertarian material.” Other potential signals of militia involvement, according to the report, are possession of the Gagsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag or the widely available anti-income tax film “America: Freedom to Fascism.”
Barr said his office has received “several dozen” complaints related to the report. Mary Starrett, communications director for the Constitution Party, said Baldwin, the party’s 2008 presidential candidate, was “outraged” that his name was included in the report.”We were so astounded by it we couldn’t believe it was real,” Starrett told FOXNews.com. “It’s painting such a large number of people with a broad brush in a dangerous light.”
Michael German, national security policy counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union, said the report “crosses the line” and shows a disregard for civil liberties.(Amazing, even the ACLU has a problem with it)
“It seems to implicate people who are engaging in First Amendment protected activities and suggest that something as innocuous as supporting a political candidate for office would mean that you’re harboring some ill-intent,” German told FOXNews.com. “It’s completely inappropriate.”
“For example, a criminal group may use a particular wire service to transfer funds, but the mention of that wire service does not imply that it is part of that group, or a criminal enterprise. Nor does it imply that all individuals who use that service are engaged in criminal activity.” The statement continues, “We are concerned about the mischaracterizations of a document following its recent unauthorized release and we regret that any citizens were unintentionally offended by the content of the document.”
“Unfortunately it is so broadly worded it could be interpreted as saying millions of peaceful, law-abiding Americans are involved in dangerous activities. These mistakes happen and we hope Missouri officials will correct the report,” Ferguson wrote in an e-mail. “The Libertarian Party promotes the common-sense policies of fiscal responsibility and social tolerance. We are the only party in America who makes opposition to initiating violence a condition of membership.”
Bob McCarty, a St. Louis resident whobloggedabout the MIAC report, said he’s afraid he may be targeted, since he’s previously sold Ron Paul-related merchandise.”[The report] described me, so maybe I need to get a gun and build a shack out in the woods,” McCarty said facetiously. “It’s certainly an attempt to stifle political thought, especially in Missouri. It definitely makes me pause, if nothing else. Maybe Missouri is just a test bed for squelching political thought.”
