At the “Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball,” Barack Hussein Obama, the newly sworn-in President, for the first time in 56 years, chose not to attend.
The American Legion sponsors the ball, which recognizes recipients of Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military award. It started in 1953 for President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s first inauguration. Event co-sponsors include 13 other veterans service organizations, among them the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

JERUSALEM – Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s leading candidate for prime minister, said Saturday that Iran “will not be armed with a nuclear weapon.”
In an interview with Israel’s Channel 2 TV, Netanyahu said if elected prime minister his first mission will be to thwart the Iranian nuclear threat. Netanyahu, the current opposition leader and head of the hardline Likud party, called Iran the greatest danger to Israel and to all humanity.
When asked if stopping Iran’s nuclear ambitions included a military strike, he replied: “It includes everything that is necessary to make this statement come true.”
Even the Kadima party candidate, Tzini Livni, the foreign minister, said Hamas could not be negotiated with and called on the people of Gaza to overthrow their regime.
“I do not intend to reach any agreements with Hamas. Agreements I make with people who accept my existence,” she said. “They do not recognize Israel and do not renounce violence and terrorism. They will not be a party to an agreement and therefore the people of Gaza have to expel the Hamas from within them.”

Is the US about to transfer its captives from the Guantanamo prison in Cuba to the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq? (What a brilliant idea!)
U.S. President Barack Obama has announced that he will soon close the special prison constructed under the Bush administration in the isolated American outpost of Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. Before, the Bush officials argued to prevent the closing of this prison because they did not want to allow the prisoners to enter the United States, where they would be entitled to the protection of the U.S. law. This would require the government to allow them to have lawyers, to protect them from torture, and to try them by judges and not by military tribunals.
Because the U.S. does not want to have the prisoners in America, but must evacuate them from Cuba, they are now actively looking for other places in the world to which it can send these ‘special’ prisoners. American diplomats have already started checking this with countries in Europe and elsewhere.
In the latest development, it has now been learnt that the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq will be reopened. The prison became one of the most famous prisons in history because of the way in which American soldiers there abused of Iraqi prisoners. Now it is to be operated by the Iraqi military as part of a secret deal with the American authorities. (And if memory serves me right, after the Iraqis took over Abu Ghraib prison, the terrorists were begging to have the Americans back)
Many in Iraq are worried that the US will transfer Iraqi prisoners to Abu Ghraib simply in order to say they are not responsible for them any more, while inside the walls of the prison these prisoners will be abused and tortured as before. (Exactly! Too bad Barry doesn’t have the cojones) But there is also the possibility that the hidden prisoners will not just be from Iraq.
Now, there is a new question on everyone’s lips: Will the dark stain that is known as Abu Ghraib be the new home to the atrocities known as Guantanamo? (Dark stain? Look in your own backyard first you Arab slime, you’ve cornered the market on atrocities)

Iran celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Islamic Revolution on Saturday. Various Iranian leaders visited the grave of Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini, the leader of the revolution and usurper of the US-backed Shah.
“The revolution is lively and alive after 30 years,” President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said at a ceremony marking the event. “We are still at the beginning of the path and greater changes are ahead. This thunderous revolution will continue until justice is implemented.

“Although the Islamic revolution happened in Iran it is not limited to Iranian borders,” he added. Crowds chanted “Death to America! Death to Israel!” at the ceremony at Khomeini’s mausoleum in southern Tehran also attended by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, government ministers and military commanders.
The ceremony was once again rife with anti-American and anti-Israeli sentiment, and various speakers stressed Iran’s support for the Palestinian people. Former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said the “Gazans and Hizbullah were able to defeat the army of the Zionist regime because of the effective influence of Iran.”
The revolutionary leader’s grandson Hassan Khomeini said, “Because of Islam we saw victory in Gaza and Lebanon. Iranians are proud because Khomeini was the flag bearer of this Islamic awakening worldwide.”

The language of science and of modernity? Who is he kidding? What is he smoking? This is from a man who lost 57 members of his family to Hitler’s Nazis, and now wants to appease the Muslims. Does Sarkozy believe in the Crocodile Principle?
He goes on to say “We must invest in the Arabic language to teach it symbolizes a moment of exchange, of openness and of tolerance, (and it) brings with it one of the oldest and most prestigious civilizations of the world. It is in France that we have the greatest number of persons of Arabic and Muslim origin. Islam is the second religion of France,” Sarkozy reminded his listeners.
Sarkozy then proceded to list the various “advances in terms of diversity,” the increase in Muslim sections of cemeteries, (well, I guess dead Muslims aren’t such a bad idea) the training of imams and chaplains and the appointments of ministers of diverse backgrounds.
“France is a friend of Arabic countries. We are not seeking a clash between the East and West,” (Ah yes, the renowned French lack of spine rears its ugly head again) he affirmed, emphasizing the strong presence of Arab leaders at the founding summit of the Union for the Mediterranean, last July 13. “The Mediterranean is where our common hopes were founded. Our common sea is where the principal challenges come together: durable development, security, education and peace.”
Apparently thousands of French citizens (mostly women) agree, as they willingly give up their freedoms to don the veil of servitude and oppression.

In a piece earlier this month titled, “Why Israel won’t survive,” Ali Abunimah, co-founder of Electronic Intifada, a pro-Palestinian online publication, accused Israel of war crimes and gloated, “Now, the other pillar of Israeli power – Western support and complicity – is starting to crack. We must do all we can to push it over.”
“It is Israel as a Zionist state, not Palestine or the Palestinian people, that cannot survive this attempted genocide. Its problem is legitimacy, or rather a profound and irreversible lack of it,” wrote Abunimah.
Abunimah previously was described as close to Obama and has introduced the politician at pro-Palestinian events. Referring to a time period in the late 1990s, Abunimah said that “Obama used to be very comfortable speaking up for and being associated with Palestinian rights and opposing the Israeli occupation.”
Abunimah was quoted stating Obama was “quite frank that the U.S. needed to be more evenhanded, that it leaned too much toward Israel.” He noted Obama’s unusual stance toward Israel, commenting “these were the kind of statements I’d never heard from a U.S. politician who seemed like he was going somewhere, rather than at the end of his career.”

Obama’s 1999 fundraising for the Palestinian Deheisha camp raised the eyebrows of one senior Israeli security official who was contacted for comment on the issue. The official, who was not aware of Obama’s fundraising, noted Deheisha, which is located near the city of Bethlehem, had a “very active” Palestinian terror apparatus in 1999, carrying out scores of deadly shootings against Israeli civilians that year.

29 January 2009: President Barack Hussein Obama’s reported dialogue with Islamic terrorists will have dire consequences for the security of the United States and more ominous consequences for survival of Israel and the balance of power in the Middle East. At best, his outreach to Muslim terrorists is a clear example of his complete lack of understanding of what motivates Muslim terrorists. At worst, it represents an almost unthinkable level of complicity with regard to the existence of Israel and the balance of power in the Middle East.
Perhaps the most misunderstood or misrepresented belief about Muslim terrorists is WHY they commit terrorist acts. Muslim terrorists do not commit acts of terror out of despair, but out of hope. Hope that the U.S. will abandon its support for Israel, and hope for Israel’s total annihilation. Hope for the acquiescence by the West to succumb to their loftier goals of complete domination. Hope, not despair is the motivating factor behind homicide bombings and rocket attacks in Israel, and behind the actions of 9/11 type terrorist who have their sights set on the U.S. and the West.
Opening a dialogue with al Qaeda or other Middle East terror organizations fuels the hope that the U.S. will, for all practical purposes, abandon Israel and will have other far reaching consequences for the West. To the terrorists, it sends a signal that the U.S. that their tactics are working, which in turn, opens the door for more terror attacks. Convoluted thinking? Absolutely. But even after Americans and all Westerners have had ample opportunity to gain insight and understanding into the rationale and tactics behind Islamic terrorism, most still do not understand that the terrorists do not think like we do in the West. Such misunderstanding by the general public is unfortunate. Misunderstanding at higher levels of government is tragic. Deliberately negotiating with terrorists is an affront to the victims of heroes of every terrorist attack against the U.S. and treasonous at it core.
Whether it is a failure to understand the motivation of the terrorists, or whether it represents something more contemptible, the results for the U.S. and Israel will be the same, although the latter will expedite the consequences.

Thousands of women are running for council seats in the provincial elections. Of course, The New York Slimes has to point out that even if they win, they face numerous hurdles, particularly the entrenched attitudes of most Iraqi men. (Sounds like America not too long ago to me.)
Iraqis go to the polls and there have been no acts of violence. I will try to find out how many of the 4000 female candidates won their races.

The Obama administration is preparing a letter to Iran intended to warm relations and pave the way for direct talks between Washington and Teheran, The Guardian reported Thursday.
Work on the document reportedly began immediately following the November election, upon receipt of a letter of congratulations sent to the elected president by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. (I guess now he’s your new best friend, Barry. Let’s all sing ‘Kumbaya’)
Diplomats quoted by the paper said the letter, which has seen several drafts so far, would aim to change the US tone towards Iran (I hope there are enough kneepads on hand) and offer a different stance on relations between the nations. In it, Obama would seek to assure Teheran that the US is not interested in toppling the Islamic regime, but only to see a change in its conduct. (Oh goodie, and Barry can give Mahmoud a good conduct medal after he joins the Messiah’s fan club)
One of the drafts reportedly calls on the Iranian leader to note the superior standards of living in neighboring countries and consider the advantages of lifting the Islamic Republic’s pariah status in the international community.(Tough sanctions didn’t work, but making Iran feel bad about itself will?)
While its tone is described as conciliatory, the letter also calls on Iran to stop sponsoring terror. (And if they don’t stop sponsoring terror, we might get cross with them. Ewwwww, that’ll do it)
The letter would either be sent to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, or released as an open letter.(Yes, Barry, show the whole world what an appeaser you are) It is being considered by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as part of a general review of Washington’s policy on Iran.
On Wednesday a close aide to Ahmadinejad said Iran will not halt its nuclear activities as demanded by Obama’s administration. (Uh oh, Barry, looks like new best friend Mahmoud doesn’t want to play ball with you)
“We have no non-peaceful activities to suspend. All our activities are peaceful and under the supervision of the IAEA,” Aliakbar Javanfekr told Reuters. (This is getting old, Mahmoud)
Javanfekr also dismissed UN resolutions demanding Iran suspend uranium enrichment. “We have passed that stage. We have rejected resolutions. Those resolutions were issued under US pressure. We work in the framework of international laws.” (Even if Barry says, “Pretty please with sprinkles on top?”)
“Obama should act realistically to avoid repeating [former US president George W.] Bush’s mistakes,” he added.(Now that’s hitting below the belt, mentioning Bush and Barry in the same sentence. Tsk, tsk)
Three rounds of UN sanctions have been imposed on Iran but Javanfekr said they were “ineffective.”(After Barry shows him how great his neighbors are living, Mahmoudie will change his mind for sure)
Javanfekr also rejected Obama’s calls for Iran to “unclench its fist,” saying its was “illogical to talk about unclenching fists when Iran is surrounded by American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.” (So much for metaphors, Barry)
Referring to the Obama administration’s suggestion of direct talks, Javanfekr said, “We are ready for talks with some preconditions … including ending America’s military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan,” he said and repeated the demand for an apology. (But , but, but, Barry wasn’t going to call for any pre- conditions. That’s not fair.)
Earlier Wednesday, Ahmadinejad called for “profound changes” in US foreign policy – including an end to support for Israel and an apology to the Islamic republic for past misdeeds. (There you go again, Mahmoud, making more demands when Barry only wants to be best friends with you)
Ahmadinejad also urged Washington to withdraw its troops stationed around the world. He said Iran would be closely watching what President Barack Obama’s new administration does and would welcome a real shift in the US approach. (As long as Barry drops his pants and begs for forgiveness, and pulls out all the troops, everything will be just dandy with the Hitler of Iran.

In the wake of Operation Cast Lead, a group of American university professors has for the first time launched a national campaign calling for an academic and cultural boycott of Israel.
While Israeli academics have grown used to such news from Great Britain, where anti-Israel groups several times attempted to establish academic boycotts, the formation of the United States movement marks the first time that a national academic boycott movement has come out of America.
“As educators of conscience, we have been unable to stand by and watch in silence Israel’s indiscriminate assault on the Gaza Strip and its educational institutions,” the U.S. Campaign for the Academic & Cultural Boycott of Israel stated in its inaugural press release last Thursday. Speaking in its mission statement of the “censorship and silencing of the Palestine question in U.S. universities, as well as U.S. society at large,” the group follows the usual pattern of such boycotts, calling for “non-violent punitive measures” against Israel, such as the implementation of divestment initiatives, “similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era.”
The campaign was founded by a group of 15 academics, mostly from California, (of course) but is, “currently expanding to create a network that embraces the United States as a whole,” according to David Lloyd, a professor of English at the University of Southern California who responded on behalf of the group to a Haaretz query.
“Within a short weekend since the posting of the press release, more than 80 academics from all over the country have endorsed the action and the numbers continue to grow.”
Asked if the group would accept the endorsement of Hamas supporters, Lloyd said, “We have no a priori policy with regard to the membership or affiliation of supporters of the boycott so long as they are in accord with the main aims stated in the press release.”
Lloyd wrote that to the best of his knowledge, all supporters of the anti-Israel boycott were also opposed to the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Asked if logic wouldn’t dictate that he and his colleagues boycott themselves, he responded, “Self-boycott is a difficult concept to realize. But speaking for myself, I would have supported and honored such a boycott had it been proposed by my colleagues overseas.”

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad demanded on Wednesday that US President Barack Obama apologise for the “crimes” committed by the United States against Iran over the past 60 years.

The hardline leader also called on Washington to withdraw its troops from across the world as a proof of Mr Obama’s commitment to change.
“You were standing against the Iranian people in the past 60 years,” Mr Ahmadinejad said during an address in the western region of Khermenshah that was broadcast by state television.
“Those who speak of change must apologise to the Iranian people and try to repair their past bad acts and the crimes they committed against Iran.”
As to the troops, he said he expected two kinds of “deep and fundamental” change. ”Meet people, talk to them with respect and put an end to the expansionist policies. If you talk about change it must put an end to the US military presence in the world, withdraw your troops and take them back inside your borders.”
Mr Ahmadinejad said the advocates of change must “stop supporting the Zionists, outlaws and criminals”.
He called on the United States to “stop interfering in other people’s affairs”.

Thursday 22nd January 2009 revealed the spite and malice of a pro-Israeli solicitor firm ****, who remonstrated at a neighbouring Muslim shop attendant, after a poster advertising a conference titled, ‘Israel is the cancer, Islam is the answer’ was displayed on their premises. They claimed he was ‘inciting racial hatred’. (What goes around comes around) After the official complaint by the solicitors firm, the Police attended the shop and arrested the innocent Muslim shop attendant.
It is incredible that despite the west’s fierce boasting about ‘freedom of speech’, it is clear that these freedoms were never meant for Muslims to exercise. Rather, they were intended solely for the purpose of justifying a propaganda campaign against Islam and Muslims and to defend western hegemony. (Sorry Muhammad, you creeps have been more than abusing your freedom of speech in the West, something you don’t even have in the tyrannical terrorist-infested hellholes you came out of)
This kind of spiteful attitude towards Muslims has become the norm in the west as part of the global war against Islam and Muslims. Cancelling Muslim events, arresting of Innocent Muslims and closing the door for any debate about the validity of western ideology is all part of a campaign against the notion of Muslims’ liberty and the idea of Shari’ah law and justice.
(Methinks thou doth protesteth too much, mr. terrorist-lover, if this is any example of how ‘oppressed’ you are in the West. No one has thrown your sorry asses in jail for a lot worse. So now it’s payback time. Get used to it.)

And here’s one ugly-ass ACLU executive director dude demonstrating why this organization should be banned from ever operating in America again, and doing it at taxpayer expense.

Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal threatens the U.S. government.
His Royal Highness Prince Turki al-Faisal is a leading Saudi powerbroker. In remarkable op-ed Turki published on Jan. 23 in London’s Financial Times, “Saudi Arabia’s patience is running out.” He begins it by recalling his own efforts over the decades to promote Arab-Israeli peace and especially the Abdullah Plan of 2002. “But after Israel launched its bloody attack on Gaza,” he writes, “these pleas for optimism and co-operation now seem a distant memory.” Then comes a threat: “Unless the new US administration takes forceful steps to prevent any further suffering and slaughter of Palestinians, the peace process, the US-Saudi relationship and the stability of the region are at risk.”
Turki goes on to instruct in detail the new administration what to do:
Condemn Israel’s atrocities against the Palestinians and support a UN resolution to that effect; condemn the Israeli actions that led to this conflict, from settlement building in the West Bank to the blockade of Gaza and the targeted killings and arbitrary arrests of Palestinians; declare America’s intention to work for a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction, with a security umbrella for countries that sign up and sanctions for those that do not; call for an immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Shab‘ah Farms in Lebanon; encourage Israeli-Syrian negotiations for peace; and support a UN resolution guaranteeing Iraq’s territorial integrity. Mr Obama should strongly promote the Abdullah peace initiative.
Finally Turki notes that Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called on “Saudi Arabia to lead a jihad against Israel [that] would, if pursued, create unprecedented chaos and bloodshed.” He soothingly notes that, “So far, the kingdom has resisted these calls,” but then reiterates his threat a third time: “every day this restraint becomes more difficult to maintain. … Eventually, the kingdom will not be able to prevent its citizens from joining the worldwide revolt against Israel.”

He traded his ax for a razor, then cut off the lower lobes of her ears and sliced her nose at the base. He next used a metal rod to poke out her eyes and then put his finger inside each socket to make sure nothing was left.
I wonder what she did to ‘deserve’ this? Oh that’s right, she’s a woman, an ISLAMIC woman.
